Just wondering how many posters like a different team in basketball and football. I like LSU in football and UK in basketball.
I know there are alot of Duke, UNC and Kansas basketball fans on here. And I highly doubt it if they are your favorite football team also.

I have followed Kansas basketball since I was in 4th grade (1992). I am an OSU alum and root for them in football.
I do root for OSU basketball, but if they played KU, I would probably root for KU.

I've been a Notre Dame football fan all of my life. I've been a Syracuse basketball fan for as long as I've been watching college basketball (1990-91).

OSU football and UNC basketball..
Though, I do root for both schools in the other sport as well..
I grew up and still live in Ohio, but I spent a good part of my life in and out of Chapel Hill as my younger sister had to go there from Cleveland to have a liver transplant at the great UNC hospital. She pretty much lived there for 5 or 6 years until she was fine to come back....
I'll never forget the day that Dean Smith and some of his players came into our room and greeted us as if they knew us their whole life. We got tix to a Duke game that year, and the rest, as they say, is history.
You guys think Football is crazy up here, well basketball is just as, if not more so crazier down there... It's life!

I follow both Ohio State and West Virginia in both football and basketball.
In basketball I also like Georgia Tech , and that goes way back when to as a youngster and me being a big Cavs fan, saw Mark Price on tv at Georgia Tech games so I started rooting for them too.

Carolina basketball, OSU football and basketball. But like LTrain, I do root for Carolina in football; just not die hard like I am for basketball. The only time I cheer against OSU in bball is when they play Carolina.

I generally am a fan of all Ohio teams. OSU in football & Xavier basketball are tops for me. UC took a big hit with Huggins being treated like he did - I root for WVU over UC in basketball. I'm an OU alum, but root for my first school (Eastern Michigan) whenever they play. Outside of Ohio, I was always a big Colorado football fan & a Syracuse basketball fan when I was in high school, still am.

I wonder why there are zero fans of Baylor in football and Northwestern in basketball? Or any other combinations of teams that are not very good?

OSU football and basketball
Florida football and basketball (family ties)
But the team that has nothing to do with family that I root for is Gonzaga Basketball.

I used to get killed for this by the "I'm loyal to THE Ohio State University even though I've never set foot on any part of the campus that doesn't abut the stadium." crew at PayPay.
I'm first and foremost a Bobcat. Outside that, it's Miami in football and Cuse in hoops. I go back to Bernie with the Hurricanes and Sherman Douglas with Syracuse.
That said, when Ohio beat Syracuse a couple years ago in hoops, I was giddy.

I remember Ohio U. beating my Orange(men) one year when Cambridge's own Geno Ford was a Bobcat. I think that was about 10 years ago though. Is that the game you're referring to?

Yeah, I never had a problem with people rooting for 2 different schools if they did so at a young age (for whatever reason). I dont like people who pick a team when they are good and stand by them at an age when they no they are good.
I REALLY dont like people who follow a player (in the pros obviously) and only root for that team. You can follow a former player, but not follow that team.

As for me, my whole family on both sides are from Kentucky and bleed blue and white. So, from a young child on I was stuck watching and following UK. My memory goes back as far of the Kenny "Sky" Walker days. As for football, I grew up liking the Hurricanes......probably because they were good and I liked their clothing and hats. But as soon as I "matured" and really followed football........Ive been a LSU fan. Only time I watch them in person is when they come to Lexington. Kentucky hasnt really ever had a consistently good football team, so it would be hard to like them in football (even though I do watch them and follow them (and other SEC schools))

People who throw a fit if somebody doesn't like the team in both sports is a complete & utter asshole.

Duke Basketball. And that's it. I've been a fan since the mid-'90s when my Dad's love for watching Blue Devils games (he's been a fan since the '80s) became my own obsession. After walking into Cameron for the first time, during the first of what would become many summers spent in Durham at the Duke Basketball Camp, that was all it took. I became sick that year, and have been ever since. I'll tell you this, I think you see God when you lie down on the 'D' at center court in Cameron late at night, when you're all alone and the lights are all turned off. Coach K isn't lying when he says he thinks the place breathes.
I hate Ohio State in all sports (except for my cousin who plays there, whom, of course, I want to do well).
In football, I always like to see Joe Pa do well, but by no means am I a fan of Penn State. I like them, but it doesn't affect me if they win or lose. As long as they beat the Bucks.
