Highly doubt they would put Rivera in a situation where he doesn't have a clean slate. He isn't getting brought into the game with 2 or more runners on with the potential to be giving up runs even though they would be Nathan's.

He was always going to have his "inning".

At least some people get it. It was all about making sure Mo had his moment on the field by himself. Mo was happy with Leyland's decision.

. I agree with giving Rivera a full inning. It was his swan song, so set him up for success, and that is what Leyland did last night. Because of the nature of baseball you will have guys who wont make it into the ASG, especially pitchers.

I understand why he put no in the 8th. Just a little disappointing to see the best closer of all time in his last All Star Game and not pitch the 9th inning.
