It wouldn't take a programmer an hour to break down and Google it.

I got 2....but not sure how the hell preschool children would get it they way I did it unless they had a conversion chart and 99% of them couldn't do it still.

The 2-5-1 are all worth 0 it appears....the 8 is worth 2 and as dumb as it is it works with all the other numbers and what they equal if you added them.
The 1111 = and 2222 = and so on shows what each number is worth....simple deductions for the numbers not listed.
I'm probably so far off.

Ok....so my way still works and translates the same....I just didn't know why 1111 = 0 or 0000 = 4....but I got the answer.

The hint was "pre-school children." About the only thing they can do is count and pick their nose. And seeing as picking their nose doesn't help anyone solve this you had to realize it was a basic counting problem.

Yeah....I didn't play along with the easy hint....but stared at the numbers for about 2 minutes and came up with the correct answer using my own terms.

My daughter at age 2 could take a map of the US that only showed borders and nothing else (black lines only) and could recognize every state within seconds....hope that helps.

According to your theory, wouldn't 8809=8 then?Ironman92;1468465 wrote:The 2-5-1 are all worth 0 it appears....the 8 is worth 2 and as dumb as it is it works with all the other numbers and what they equal if you added them.

But anyway, I92s way works (aside from the first one, 8809=6, it should =5). So, that is actually pretty cool.
EDIT: NM. It is correct.
