Not to pile on, but the dismal news for Obie just keeps coming.

Those that the plan was supposed to 'help' don't plan on using Obamacare by a 78% to 22% margin.
Does Boat still want to make the argument that American's and "50/50" on the ACA?

Not just that, but if the "young & healthies" don't sign up en masse....the entire program collapses under its own weight.jmog;1532286 wrote:You beat me too it.

It's not suprising. Poor people don't want to pay one penny for health insurance - that comes out of the HBO/Showtime/Starz budget. And others, for similar reasons, prefer to spend their money on an XBox or IPhone rather than get nothing for their money (i.e. "unused" insurance).jmog;1532286 wrote: Those that the plan was supposed to 'help' don't plan on using Obamacare by a 78% to 22% margin.
Truthfully, the majority of people who buy insurance are going to basically get catastrophic coverage (if they've done the ROI), insuring against a bankruptcy. So people who don't have anything to lose in bankruptcy have no real incentive to buy health insurance to protect against it.

You mean, IPAB, the Independent Payment Advisory Board. That is the death panel, just to get the terminology correct.

And it will be interesting to see how the community agitator handles this. There's no quick or easy fixes for this thing, so there will be a push to go single payer. The problem I see is if they didn't have the votes in 2009 (or they would have done it then), they don't have the votes now.Classyposter58;1533952 wrote:This is such a damn mess, I am highly doubtful that this thing remains intact and will be repealed
Obviously they would need Repub votes in the House to pass anything. But I'm not sure they can even get 50 Dems in the Senate to pass single payer. And in an election year? Oh boy

Since Oct. 1, only 106,185 people have signed up for Obamacare. (And by "signed up, that includes people who have put plans in their carts, but not paid). Only 28,000 of those on healthcare.gov. Most of the 106K signed up for Medicare. What a failure.
Oh yea, and 7 million have lost their insurance.

So the idiot is about to speak in 45 minutes. He's got a fix for the ol' "if you like it you can keep it" dilemma. I'm guessing he thinks he has the authority to to tell the private insurance companies that were forced to drop people that they need to take them back. What a clusterfuck he created.
Basically, if the insurance companies refuse to take back the customer, they are now the bad guy. Passing the buck.

Not to mention, everyone is saying the insurance companies just can't reinstate/re-offer a plan they've canceled. Intuitively that makes a lot of sense - it doesn't take just a few days or weeks to price these things.TedSheckler;1535464 wrote:So the idiot is about to speak in 45 minutes. Then you have the issue if 50% or more of the market keeps their plans and pricing, then who's going to subsidize all the uninsured and high-risk people? The whole thing falls apart if they do that.
The goal here is clearly going to be to provide political cover for Senators with tough elections coming up, and to delay/distract/distort the truth until after 2014 elections.
I'll say this though: unintentionally Obama may actually be changing "politics as usual". I think a good % of the electorate is having their eyes opened about ALL politicians and the liberal media.

"Not to mention,"
Not to mention part II, it is another lie/flipflop. Can anyone find and post his comments that these policies (that millions of Americans liked) weren't really "insurance" because it didn't cover maternity care for post-menopausal women and mental health for 93 year olds.

Got a letter in the mail yesterday, stating that my insurance will no longer cover PPI's as of 01/01/14. How many freaking american's suffer from acid related problems? An insurance company that doesn't cover PPI's?
Thanks, Obama

The sheeple have short memories especially when the media helps the politicians push the "free stuff" idea.gut;1535514 wrote:I'll say this though: unintentionally Obama may actually be changing "politics as usual". When Barry's Media convinces the sheeple he'll single-handedly fix the Obamacare mess for free you'll see what I'm talking about.

As soon as these old farts register with the death panels, drop Medicare altogether, and subscribe to the generous benefits of health care insurance via the wildly successful Obamacare web site the better off we'll all be.QuakerOats;1536918 wrote:THOUSANDS OF DOCTORS DROPPED FROM HEALTH PLANS
