The wife and celebrated 40 years of marriage on June 30[SUP]th[/SUP].

As we where reminiscing it was funny about the furniture and the time period between purchasing.

After 40 years of marriage:

Couches 3 : Our first was from my apartment and cement block end tables
Second was when we bought our first home Ethan Allen Living Room Set (recovered twice)
Third was when the kids where leaving for college .. Thomas Kincaid Furniture and Leather Couch, Love set and Chair

Kitchen table 1 : One Old Oak Table her grandma gave us .. refinished w/ High back, spindle chairs

Bedroom set 2 : First was a mix of antiques (brass bed) and hand me down dresser
Second a complete set of Thomas Kincaid Bedroom

Dinning room : 38 years ago we bought or first and only Dinning Room set, Cherry wood table extend out to over 20 feet w/ three panels and 8 matching chair. Bought it at a estate sale $2000.00 … one of my best buys ever. Now with a family of 11 work perfect for entertaining

Grills 4 : All new and all got bigger and bigger

TVs 4 : Two of those where in the last 5 years..

Just picked up a nice Porch set…

How about you what the time frame between your home furnishing purchases?

Note: If you have young kids don’t buy anything good until they are out of the house. Teenage was the worst time…
“We just can’t have nice things” I heard this from my wife for 20 years and then the kids started to leave …

Congrats on 30 years, Belly.

We are on our 2nd couch. Second tv. Second dining room table. Second bedroom set. First grill. I don't want to talk about outdoor furniture.
