If you're making the poll because you personally aren't sure what to do and whether or not I am a harm, I'll gladly step down. I'm only a moderator to try to help the site. There really isn't much of a "benefit" since we aren't paid. We usually receive grief when we do enforce rules. The only "benefits" are that we get to dick around in this forum and occasionally see who the alternate identities are through IP addresses. You don't need a justification of a poll for me to remove my moderator status if you think that's in the best interest of this place as it is your website so your opinion is ultimately what matters.

But if you're making the poll to appease the complaints, then I'll stay on if I win and graciously give up my mod status if I lose. I'll still post either way.

After reading through the stuff I missed last night it's a little bit of both. I am truly at a loss as to what to do and I think just putting it up for a vote is the easiest thing to do. I don't personally think you are causing harm to the site, but when I see the posts from Curly J, a guy I know personally and respect the shit out of, it made things a little different. Certainly nothing personal against you, I just think the demand for a vote is there and it will, in the end, make things much easier on me.

This is the case. I really do think it's a no win situation for me. And I think it'll ultimately be a no win situation for Justin in the long run in the minds of the few troubled individuals.

I mean look at the response to the poll question in the original thread. They think you've skewed it with how you worded it. They also claimed that you've tampered with it as people, who don't post frequently, voted that they were the problem and not me.

Anyways, whatever the result, life will go on and I don't think much will really change in the behavior of CoA/Like_That/S&L/Sleeper. I mean, if I lose mod status they will most likely be on their best behavior for a short period of time, but they will resume to their status quo. If I win in the poll, they'll continue their crusade.

Ive never had an issue with any Mod on here. But reading that thread for 24 hours, it seems like a vote is the only way to go.

And while they probably will just move on to someone else, I think that will actually expose them for what they truly are to everyone else. It would show that they truly cannot be happy unless they are running the show.

I think you're right with this. The vote is the way to go. And if I do lose out, and they do eventually move on to someone else, then they're exposed. But as I said, I think they will probably behave for a bit before they fall back into their normal routine.

Anyways, I'm interested in seeing what the poll thread looks like. It's kind of exciting in it's own way.

I haven't decided whether to keep the vote thread open for discussion like the current one, or just close it and sticky it. Thoughts?

This. I remember us, a long time ago, thinking that it'd be "over" after they drove Dynasty off, but then they moved to other people. If Fly goes, well, they don't have a great relationship with LJ. And then there's how Chiefs is willing to get into head-on arguments with people, so he's always a potential target. Or Justin, as Like That's PM to Chiefs (as well as a lot of his recent posts) seem to indicate he feels Justin is ripe for the same sort of targeting.

To me, whether Fly stays or goes as a mod is the least important issue, at least compared with those guys picking posters they don't like and constantly harassing them (and then brushing it off as simply "busting balls") to drive them off under the "hurt feelz" label. That shit has to stop under no certain terms. It's just laughable how they take no responsibility for any traffic decline and seem clueless that they could be doing it (ie: like that bitching about the poll because guys who never post any more voted against him...gee, dude, you think there's a chance they don't post because a few of you are assholes to everyone who doesn't meet your "good poster" standards?). That's something that will have to be made clear immediately, too, because if it would be determined by his choice, Justin's choice or a vote, that Fly does step down and if he would still be a participating member of the site, you know every single one of the assholes is going to want to tee off on him non-stop the second his name shows up in a different color.

I was going to post last night on the poll thread when DA and Curly were there but decided not to because I had a good buzz and figured I'd just go on a tangent and confuse the issue, but...

I get that Fly probably didn't help his cause with a bunch of long-winded responses that some people who are typically reasonable took to be arrogant, self-serving or whatnot...but when dealing with guys like LT, CoA, etc. who go out of their way to be assholes, I mean, what the fuck? It seems they're going against Fly for the simple reason he feels the need to defend himself on that thread against the assholes. Like this bizarre, "It's cool when they base their lives around attacking you, but NOPE!!!! You can't do nuthin' about it or YOU ARE THE PROBLEM!" sort of vibe. Man, if I was in that situation, I just know things would be different because by this point, I'd have abandoned all attempts to sound professional about things and would have gone full-Durkie on anyone from Like That to Curly with GFY's galore.

I think it's so funny that Wildcats is being outspoken about being anti-F4F, but if he just would have done his job moderating they would have never felt they could do anything they wanted, and we wouldn't be in this position.

Regardless of how this vote deal turns out, it probably should be hammered into the asshole brigade that, whether they like to admit it or not, they definitely don't help with things like site traffic when they decide they dislike a poster (dynasty, jordo, fly, rock, etc) and constantly stalk them all over the site, derailing every single thread that poster says anything on in order to get their shots in.

I mean, I'm cool with people thinking this or that about other posters, mods, whatever, but it's just kinda pathetic that they are incapable of admitting that anything they do might be *gasp* wrong. It's not "busting balls" that leads to dumbasses getting "hurt feelz"...it's just being a persistent asshole and that's more a problem here than anything else.
