Thge homestand continues as Kansas City comes to town in a battle for second place in the AL Central. The Royals are a half a game behind the Indians in the standings.

It's Carrasco( 0-2, 15.26 ERA) vs. Shields (2-6, 2.79 ERA) in the opening game of the series tonite.

Nick Swisher is nursing a shoulder strain and will most likely not play today. I would not be surprised to see Lonnie Chisenhall get a call up soon...and/or Swish put on the 15 day DL.

Tribe is now at an even .500.:thumbup:

Hopefully they drummed into Carrasco's head that he has to pitch inside. He's been afraid to since he got suspended.

I think the Tribe is going to be strong this week. I'm sorry Swish will be down for awhile because I'd really like to watch him work out of his slump. I hope the shoulder gets better. Carlos C. needs to listen to his coaches and not get excited and the entire lineup should watch Carlos S.'s at bats for a lesson in how to be smart at the plate. I say the Tribe wins the series against a decent KC team.

I missed some good games while on vacation this weekend. Carrasco looks good so far through 3. Tribe has 2 men on to start the bottom of the 3rd.

Of course they get nothing out of it after bases loaded one out. Aviles popped up to the catcher and Kipnis got hosed on called 3rd strike.

We need Asdrubal back big time..Aviles is just killing us, both offensively and defensively. In addition, Santana needs to either DH or play 1st (sparingly), 'cause it seems whenever a runner gets on base it's almost automatic that he steals second...and he also seems to be having a helluva time blocking balls in the dirt.

Aviles is not all that bad, and he was a great pickup. He's been pretty good in clutch situations overall....last nite notwithstanding. Francona pushed all the wrong buttons last night...it happens.
Santana needs to either DH or play 1st
I think that is a given next year, as Reynolds and Giambi will probably not be here. Gomes will be the regular catcher, with Carlos backing him up. May even happen this year if you get an injury somewhere. I actually thought that it might have been sooner....especially if they put Swish on the DL(which they probably should).

I agree, Santana is beyond terrible behind the plate...he has to be a DH at some point. Not sure what Tito was thinking with a lot of stuff last night, but bad nights even happen for good managers.

I'm ok with Johnny Mac who can play anywhere...while Druby is on the DL. He basically is filling the role that Aviles had, until Aviles had to play in Druby's spot.
