They are an energy supplier, affilliated with DP&L but can offer a different rate than DPL..but anyways....

In a town that, according to the 2010 census, is 98.98% white, they send out a team of black workers to go door-to-door to try and sell their product.

Probably not a good idea.

Although the young lady who stopped by my house, with a state name of Destiny, was very nice, it probably wasnt the best of ideas.

Well there has been a big push lately with other energy suppliers due to the de regulatio that happend a while back. Weekly I have been getting offers from other energy suppliers. DPL itself has to go with a certain rate, but the other companies can offer a lower rate or something like that...so DPL came up with some subsiderary or whatever called DPL energy that can offer it lower than the standard DPL rate.

Yeah....even if ya would switch the generation and another charge stays on there from DPL, but the actual rate for the electricity would change

But why not, other than real/implied racism? I mean, I live in a rural area that's really whitebread (and loaded with way too many confederate hillbilly flags...), but at least I wouldn't see anything wrong with people of a different race coming by. At least not any more than a white person -- I don't fucking like door-to-door salesmen in general. But I'm not going to treat one person/group differently than another or make my "do I buy or not" decision based on their skin color, so I guess your posts confuse me, if you don't mean in a racist way.

To me, the whole thing just reeks of this "they're not 'our kind', so why did THEY come to our town" sort of vibe, at least the way it's being said.

Those jobs are typically outsourced to consulting firms. Probably wasn't DP&L's fault

So then your problem should be with people who stumble over their words and don't speak very clearly...not black people. If you had started this thread by saying that the company failed because they hired shitty door-to-door sales people, that would be different. But you said the company failed because they hired black people to try to sell to your white town. No matter how you try to spin it and cover it...that's racist as fuck.
