I didn't even see it as desolved. To me it was a couple of guys talking giving each other some shit about a VIDEO GAME. VIDEO GAME. We have to adhere to F4F's policies and can't have fun discussing which video game we like better now? SMH

FIFA is the GOAT. Yes I play soccer. But I also love video games. I love Madden, I love COD, GTA, MLB , Tiger Woods, etc. Nothing compares to FIFA. All of my friends (who admittedly HATE soccer, tell me I suck for playing, etc) LOVE it. Youre just a stubborn POS if you say it isn't good without ever playing.

Seriously, though, XBox is screwing the pooch here. They made this sweet thing, took a shit on it, and are trying to sell it.

Agree about FIFA. As someone else mentioned, playing that game is how I got into following the sport. Tiger Woods is a close second to me.

I have played it. It's been awhile but it didn't really interest me. I don't want to play a video game of a sport I have zero interest in. Doesn't mean it's a bad game though.

I was talking more to ClassyPoster hating on it for being soccer, not even trying it.

I don't know when/if I'll be upgrading. Maybe someone can help me out, but I just don't see any reasons to upgrade from my PS3 for $400.

My issue as well...and the PlayStation plus requirement doesn't help

Which is more than the $0 I pay now, and the justification I use when talking about benefits of a PS3 vs 360.

It just seems to me that the graphics capabilities aren't worth $400 (YET) and PS3 is already Blu-ray

That being said, I'm acknowledging my ignorance on the issue so that's why I'm looking for some people that are going to be upgrading to give me some reasons why I should as well.

My reasons for upgrading:

-At this point in my life, gaming is pretty much my only hobby outside of playing with my kids and watching movies (2 kids under 3 years old). Although I only play maybe 5 hours per week at this point, I want to be spending that time on the newest most popular game on the best system available.

-I like tech things, and I like the latest and greatest when it comes to video games...Been gaming for 25 years or so (i'm 27).

-I will likely buy the PS4 at launch the way things are looking, but I wouldn't be surprised if I also have an Xbox One within the next 2-3 years....It just always happens, I think I've owned every console of every gen since I was like 5 years old..

-I figure the next gen systems will last, say, 7-10 years...so for a cost of around $200 - $250 per year (I figure the system, PSN/Live, a few games), I will get a lot of enjoyment.

-The prices won't drop significantly in the next couple years, maybe $50-100 at best, so it's not much of a savings IMO to wait it out for a couple years...your still going to be dropping $300-400 when the time comes.

-Game developers will be focusing on the PS4 and Xbox One....Sure, you could still play Call of Duty Ghost or Black Ops 2, or Madden 2011, etc., but with my limited gaming time, I want the newest/best.

Those are just some of my reasons..I see both sides of it...IF you don't game much and don't care about the latest and greatest, then hold off...If you are like me, holding off is impossible.

Well that's the thing, I DO game all the time, and I DO want the greatest, but I have a monetary trade-off since I'm still in school and still bleeding money from loans. I don't doubt that the PS4 is an upgrade, I just am looking at it from a "is this worth $400 now when I don't have that much disposable money" perspective.

To make this easier I guess I'll just ask some questions.

1. how big is the graphics upgrade?
2. how long will it take developers to truly take advantage of the upgraded capabilities?
3. can you still use online features (roster updates, etc.) without paying for the multiplayer PSPlus?
4. what are the other non game related upgrades? (ie user interface, switching between apps, etc.)

I know what you mean about the school, loans, etc...I was lucky that Xbox 360 game out when I was finishing high school, so as a kid with a job and some money, I bought one.....Now this gen I'm out of college, steady job for 5 years with disposable income, so no problem...If this came out when I was 23 and just out of college and had no job for 6 months, it would be a different story.

I think most of your questions are hard to answer at this point since the consoles were just revealed....If I were you I would maybe try to lock in a preorder at Amazon for 1 or both systems, there is no charge to do this, just be sure to cancel before it ships (worst case you could then return). That way you have one reserved and you can research and look out for all of the new info as it is released over the next 6 months and make up your mind...

You could maybe even try to preorder a couple from different retailers and see if you could resell at school and make a profit, enough to possibly pay for the console itself.

I did that when the Wii came out (sold on ebay, though), but I went a little overboard and bought like around 20 of them when they were hot and made a couple $1,000, and kept one of the Wii's...
