The line on J.J. Hoover.
4 hits, 2 walks, 6 earned runs. Solid effort.

Watch the Reds score like 3. Votto might HR. Frazier might actually make contact.

On May 25th the Reds were 1/2 game out of 1st... They've gone 6-8 since & now they're 4 games back

The good news is...it's still the 3rd best record in the NL. Every other team not named the Braves and Cardinals have played just as bad since then.osu45804;1455089 wrote:On May 25th the Reds were 1/2 game out of 1st... They've gone 6-8 since & now they're 4 games back
It is concerning though, the trend of this bullpen. I'm sorry, you can't continue to blow leads when you are up in the 7th or later. It's why the 2010 and 2012 teams were so good.
Unfortunately, teams have been able to battle them, bypass Chapman to where he throws his inning and is gone, then pick on other guys.
Like I said before...they greatly miss Sean Marshall. If he's around, the Cards never tie it at 4.

Not often you lose in extra innings by more than an NFL team can in OT

I guess being down 7, there's not much to really accomplish. Tough loss...but some winnable series' coming up. 4 at Chicago, 3 vs the Brew Crew and then 4 big ones against Pittsburgh.
Bailey, Cingrani, Leake and Latos against the Cubs. Cueto eligible to return on Sunday, and his turn would be Monday in Pittsburgh.

Actually, he's eligible Sunday. And Cingrani's 2nd start would be Sunday. They have said he won't make rehab starts...Jughead;1455097 wrote:Dusty will find some way to pull him out to put Hoover in.

Dusty will give Cueto an extra two weeks just to make sure he's fully healthy.

Good news. Hamilton is hitting in the 280's with an OBP near .350 since the first 2 weeks of the AAA season. If he continues for another few weeks, I could see them bringing him up and shifting Choo to the #2 hole. They could use a spark.
