I actually feel good about the Boston series. We got our 2 best pitchers throwing and it's Francona's first trip back to Boston so you know the tribe will lay it all out for him.

Lol at a broom for a two game sweep.

These were two games that experimenting with Huff and hoping for a hold from him really wasn't a good idea. IDK....maybe the Boston series is more important to Francona, and he wanted to go there with the best part of his bullpen fully charged.
I agree with you. What is Tito supposed to do? He has Huff in pen which is partially his decision with front office. So if you have him in the pen, he needs to get used. You can't burn Smith, Pestano, Allen and Perez every night. Down 6-2 is the perfect time to burn a long reliever. Hope he can get you 2 or 3 scoreless and chip away. Huff just happened to make it worse.

The guy next to me on the third base line after the second delay was absoluitely tearing into Caberara. Miggy couldn't even handle it. When the whole section started a DUI chant it looked like he was going to cry

Stay classy Cleveland. Didn't he follow that up with a home run?

No. It didn't start til after. And I agree, I wasn't part of the chanting. But seeing his reaction was quite funny. You'd think as a professional athlete he could handle a little bit of heckling from a drunk guyTBone14;1447318 wrote:Stay classy Cleveland. Didn't he follow that up with a home run?

That person is wrong. I heard the MVP chants after Bourne pushed Miggys hit into a HR and nobody was heckling at that time. It wasn't until he was in the field.Classyposter58;1447324 wrote:Yeah. As Wally would say, should have been an errorClassyposter58;1447324 wrote:Yeah. On the Tigers msg board someone said that when he hit it all the Detroit fans started chanting MVP at them
But on a serious note. That should be ruled an error. Which begs the question, has there ever been a 4 base error (aka, a HR error) lol

It was EASILY an error. It hit right off Bourne's hand.Laley23;1447339 wrote:As Wally would say, should have been an error

Rules easily state that any ball that bounces off a fielder and out is a home run. The rule is when a ball travels more than 250 feet from home plate in fair play the batter becomes a runner. By rule you cannot rule it as an error, just as when Canseco had the ball hit off him and out. It's a homerohiobucks1;1447343 wrote:It was EASILY an error. It hit right off Bourne's hand.

What rule says that you can't have an error on a ball hit 250 ft?Classyposter58;1447354 wrote:Rules easily state that any ball that bounces off a fielder and out is a home run. Never knew that. Good info. Kind of a dumb rule though. Should have been caught, seemed like a natural situation to call an errorClassyposter58;1447354 wrote:Rules easily state that any ball that bounces off a fielder and out is a home run. lol....I want to see the 250 ft no error rule.
So an outfielder drops a ball, that is easily catchable, more than 250 ft from home plate and it's not an error?

MLB rule 6.09 (d) - "The batter becomes a runner when: A fair ball passes over a fence or into the stands at a distance from home base of 250 feet or more. Such hit entitles the batter to a home run when he shall have touched all bases legally. A fair fly ball that passes out of the playing field at a point less than 250 feet from home base shall entitle the batter to advance to second base only."

You are talking about a ball going over a fence after being touched after 250 ft. The 250 ft through me, because there are no fences that are only 250 ft from the plate.Classyposter58;1447368 wrote: MLB rule 6.09 (d) - "The batter becomes a runner when: A fair ball passes over a fence or into the stands at a distance from home base of 250 feet or more. Yea...you would think he has heard a lot of that. I am fine with the heckling. I just would never heckle someone for something they did that could possibly happen to me. Steroid use, wife beating, etc...all great fodder for heckling.

This rule has absolutely nothing to do with a play being ruled an error or not--nice try thoughClassyposter58;1447368 wrote: MLB rule 6.09 (d) - "The batter becomes a runner when: A fair ball passes over a fence or into the stands at a distance from home base of 250 feet or more.
