I saw yesterday that Kansas was getting hit by some nice size tornadoes.

No one tell my wife. She's terrified of them...

Yeah you're talking EF4 at minimum with the damage they're showing. You need houses wiped clean of their foundations basically for EF5, haven't really seen that yet but it's still early.

2 schools hit too, and it would have been around dismissal time

Do schools in that part of the country have underground shelters? Hope so, doesn't look like going into the hallway and covering your head would have done much.

Just as a general FYI...

Here's a link to the information the NWS uses to rate these things on damage surveys. Click on the number that corresponds to the damaged fixture you're looking at, and it gives wind speed ranges based on the degree of damage.

Heard the one in Moore had 190mph winds, which appears to be about the very high-end of an EF4.

yea dude on stream right now is showing it live from Meeker. Saying same storm on news coverage.

Overhead photos are showing what appears to be whole neighborhoods leveled. Wow!!!

Looks like 200-350 homes wiped out.

CNN saying 30 students pulled out alive from Plaza Towers Elementary school.

Always wondered when something like this would happen. Some large city getting wiped out in the Midwest.
