I'll always buy my numbers last-minute and get horrible results. Not sure it matters, but I don't know exactly how the machine auto-picks. I thought it used to select randomly from numbers not already in play.

You choose five numbers between 1 and 59, and then one powerball number between 1 and 35. This number may or may not repeat one of your first five numbers. This. Usually it's a migrant worker or taxi cab driver (who became a U.S. citizen few years ago) who wins the lotto.
