Did anyone here like Robert California? While the show was clearly reaching, I thought he had moments that worked. But he was nowhere near as good as some of the other guest appearances, notably Will Ferrell. The juggling scene was, IMO, one of the five best moments in the show's entire run. That was great.

The "stupid awkward" humor is super tough to do well. Only guy who's funny doing it is Zach Galianakis, and sometimes Will Ferrell.
Gabe had moments, I never found Erin funny at all. I look back at what could have been and think about the possibility of Dwight and Jim both having control of the branch. The show could have continued to be excellent but they lost Carrell and thought they needed a name to replace him. The sad part was the existing cast was enough. Not a single added character aside from the short dorky intern added something of value to the show. While I see what you are saying, I also can appreciate those auxiliary characters for what they were. I would have loved to have seen Gabe as a branch manager and just watch the entire office humiliate and destroy him each episode. Deangelo, Jo, Robert, Nellie. All worthless characters.
