If someone kidnapped Dusty Baker and kept him locked in their basement for 10 years, I would not be upset by that.

You're fucking loony..any fucking option is better than leake after just pitching seven innings.

I mean seriously?

Time for Hoover to head to Louisville until he can get his control back.

Yes, seriously.

You're telling me you would rather have Corky up there over Leake?

The REAL "looney" here is the Reds organization allowing us to even have this debate...a pitcher or Corky Miller, in the most critical AB of the game. Not good.

Injuries have hurt a bit as far as having a bench. Ludwick, Heisey, and Hanigan being out, really hurts from the right side. Also, our minor league position talent is atrocious right now.

Dusty sucked. Just horrible. Leake hitting bothers me a bit and him coming back out for another trip through the top of the order....no thanks.

Use your pinch hitters in big moments towards the end of the game. I don't care about any stats.....use your pinch hitters....left or right.

Letting him start off versus Schaffer was dumb.

Did Dusty ever give a reason why he had Leake come out for the eighth? Worried about bullpen fatigue or something? Because you're talking about a guy who'd gone 7 and had to be over 100 pitches AND who'd been struggling and was probably the worst of your five starters as far as overall season performance. Not the guy in the rotation you'd expect someone to try squeezing another inning out of.

The better question is did any of the reds reporters ask dusty about it. The answer is, has always been, and will forever be, no.

Dusty is not accountable for anything because no one has the balls to call him out on his missteps.

THIS.

And sounds like even when they do, he just glares at them. Never answers.

Minor was at 115 pitches. I dont care if its lefty on lefty. Hes at the end of the road. Only takes one mistake, which is more likely when you are tired.

I guess this thread is as good as any for this.

Cueto is pitching in Dayton tonight.

One step closer to the Reds making the wrong decision and sending Cingrani down.

Root for Leake to get absolutely bombed next week and Cingrani to get the W tomorrow, and we might be in good shape.

With that said, Leake could easily go to the pen, LeCure and Simon could "move up" a spot in the pen, and Ondrusek could be DFA'ed. He's awful.

I could see this being a possibility. And would honestly be the correct way to approach it, IMO. But Dusty is Dusty. So I won't bank on it.

@DragonsBaseball1h
Dragons lead 8-1 after 3 innings. Cueto out after 3 innings: 4 h, 1 r, 0 bb, 4 so. 51 pitches, 36 strikes. Only run came in 1st inning.

I mean they could always just do the right thing and not send Cingrani down; no need to root for Leake to get rocked lol

Well, I mean I think the issue is they don't want to "demote" Leake. He's going to be in their rotation in the next 3 years. That's a certainty. Sending him to AAA may not fly, but moving him to the pen (and actually using him to bat/run more often, which wouldn't be a terrible idea) makes more sense.

LeCure (and Simon) have proven they can be middle relievers, along with Hoover. Ondrusek is the odd man out, especially if LeCure's role expands into some key situations more and more. Leake would be perfect as a spot starter/long reliever.

If like you said, they think that way, hopefully Leake does pretty decent.

Cingrani's arguably been their best starter lol I don't think there's any chance Walt sends him down to AAA.

Wouldn't be surprised. If Cingrani stays, he'll be shut down long before the playoffs. They may opt to send him down, monitor his innings, and bring him on next year into the rotation. Hoover is giving up nearly 2 earned runs per inning. He needs to go down and find his control.
