I stayed in a house in Gourde (Southern France) and they have scorpions all over that place. Talk about restless nights.

Never had a bee issue in Az.

The desert sucks.
An episode of flipping Vegas bought a foreclosure that was INFESTED with bark scorpions. They're the nastier ones out West, but they still rarely kill ya. Oh, and you also have to deal with the black widow spiders.

Honestly, neither would really bother me. I'd be far more worried about having brown recluse spiders. At least bees or wasps are usually much easier to get rid of.

I would punch every bee in the face.

On a serious note my friend lived there a couple years ago and there are a lot of car break ins don't leave anything valuable in sight.

My brother and SiL found one in their house in Phoenix last year. I went to visit about a month later and was on high alert the entire time.
