Yeah apparently someone didn't strap the cargo correctly, causing it all to shift to the back of the plane after liftoff. Then, nose dive.

Hard to say how fast it was falling...Obviously fast enough to cause it to explode on impact. Otherwise I wonder, because it looked like a heck of a recovery by the pilot and possibly survivable without the explosion.

I've had worse flights on Spirit. That's pretty bad, though.

Where was this at? For some reason the video reminds me of Russia and the video that was shot of the meteor.

Just read, potentially an "aerodynamic stall" that may have been caused by a cargo shift.

Pilots are trained to handle aerodynamic stalls, but most of the time they are much higher (thousands of feet off the ground) when they work on the maneuvers.

If that is a c-5 leaving afhanistan then it probably was carrying a shit ton of fuel. But I dont see anything on any military sites, so maybe not a c-5.

Nevermind. See its one of the civilian cargo planes. We have one of those here quite a bit. Sad for all involved.

Looks like bagram, though there isn't much to go off of. If that is the road I am thinking of, then I actually lived within half a mile of where that plane went down when I was stationed there. It's crazy to imagine what must have been going through the minds of those that were on the base that day. Bagram is one of the largest bases in Afghanistan, it's like a small town, 4-5000 people stationed there. Probably freake them out since it probably was quite a different feeling than a mortar attack...
