Yeah there have been a lot of cases where a school had multiple suicides in a short period of time. I wouldn't say it's contagious but it can spread like it is. Ive seen studies showing if you know someone who has committed suicide then you are more likely to as well. Even the military has had problems with this on some bases.

I had a similar experience with this kind of situation. One kid in my high school class committed suicide and then within 6 months another kid attempted suicide. Well, you might not call it contagious, but that is part of the language used in the literature. Suicide and school shootings and such are..."contagious."
I like to refer to it as "copycat." When one person does it, there is all kinds of speculation and talk about "why?" So, what happens...others that may identify with the perpetrator try to do the same. It's a shame. It's sad.
