Not sure how true this is...
To put #West, TX in perspective, 4,800lbs of fertilizer were used in OKC bombing. That fit in a Ryder truck. This was an ENTIRE PLANT.

I've read 70 dead w/ Atleast 5 being firefighters or cops

Wikipedia has that number linked to a real book, which lends it some credence.

But I believe when you make a bomb out of fertilizer you add a few other ingredients as well. So I'm not sure how the actual explosive capacity or blast size could actually be compared.

Regardless of what was added to it, this was a whole damn fertilizer plant. Such a scary event.

OKC Bombing was a 3.0.

That really makes me consider how scary that event must have been for anyone who managed to survive the initial blast. I've seen pictures and such of the building afterwards. But seeing an explosion like in that video and that being less than OKC, really puts what must have happened there into better perspective than just numbers and pictures of the aftermath.

They appear to be about 1/4 mile away - lucky they didn't get it with shrapnel...seems like the son/girl temporarily lost their hearing.

I'm surprised OK City registered higher on the richter scale - seems like this carved a bigger path of destruction. The tank that exploded was a different chemical, which I'm sure had some affect.

WOW. As a firefighter my heart goes out for all the firefighters/cops/EMTs. I can't believe more FF aren't dead. Fire that like you are going to be on top off trying to put it out, then that explosion. Horrible, so sad. I really hope this was just an accident.

This. I think it was just a fire. As another poster said earlier, accidents do happen.

We don't need to set off the crazy sirens just yet. Our country is fine.

That video was chilling, especially the kid afterwards crying about not being able to hear and begging dad to go somewhere else.
