Airports given all clear.
It is usual to have many false alarms after the event. We saw this many times after 9/11.

I do find it interesting no group has stepped forward to claim this.
Adds to the complexity of the event.
Doesn't seem to be following the foreign terrorist pattern. But, then again, too early to speculate.

Latest is that the bombs were pressure cookers filled with metal and ball bearings.

So many conflicting reports.

Earlier I saw an article that said hospitals reported they were not "removing ball bearings from patients", only "street" materials that were thrown from the blast.

I take "suspicious package" reports with a grain of salt. The 7 "bombs" detonated yesterday by the bomb squad are proof of that.

It is frustrating. There are so many sources reporting different things that I haven't known what to believe from the very beginning.

More conflicting stuff.

One source says "controlled detonations" occurred yesterday, today....no other bombs.

Typical media.

It happens.
Remember all the conflicting stories after 9/11.

The inherit problem with the internet, round the clock news reporting and the "information age." Yes, we are in the information age where there is a limitless amount of information out there and much of which can be completely contradictory.

Patience is the only real answer to this problem.

I agree, but it's not just the internet. Different news agencies are reporting completely different information.

They all want to be the first to break a story, which leads to misinformation.

I agree and edited my post but was too late apparently, as you were responding to my unedited version.

I think the internet and the 24 hour news model has put a premium on being "first" or the one to break the story and as a result, reliability and trustworthiness are going by the way side.

I understand the concept of having "sources" when reporting. As you want to keep the line of communication open to get information in the future. But at some point those reporting the news need to have an inner sense of responsibility to have some degree of certainty.

In a situation like yesterday, reporting that there were other "unexploded bombs" that were recovered, intentionally set of, and/or disarmed, would only increase any "terror" effect that the two original bombs had. It's irresponsible reporting in my opinion.

Finishing 10th but only because people were blown up in front. HILARIOUS.

I'm giving Rec a little bit of a pass here. I think he was initially responding to someone who posted about someone coming in 10th and his point (I think) was that who cares what place someone came in when people were dying. But his responses did seem weird and then he tried to defend them and it spiralled into more weirdness.

He was trolling hard and in doing so proved that nothing Justin could do can save this site from itself. Its not the mods, its not the thread banning...its the fact our society is full of fucktards that get off on pissing others off.

He said he was trying to be funny. In other words he wasnt trying to our things in perspective like your pass is attempting to dictate.
