He came back recently with a new name but it escapes me at the moment.

I was in Fargo back in the day for the national wrestling tournament. Pretty sure that is the only thing that state has going for them. I will say NDSU's dining hall was pretty solid.

I guess that too, but I was just referring to how their population increases by 500% during that tourney and I am sure their econony depends on it.

That's badass. Just not worth the cold for me. But if you can get that view, it'd be tough to pass up.

I mean, there's no way in hell I could get my wife to move there, but if I were single and/or with someone a little more "country" I'd go in a heartbeat. Cold doesn't really bother me.

It is cool, but rather live in a city and have a social life.

Cold just ruins shit. But the solitude would be great. Dare to dream.

I'm sick of living in the city and ready for a simpler life. At this point the only thing I like about living in the city is that I can get to GABP in 5 minutes.

Haha no.
I prefer small town bars. Not city bars where I have to turn sideways to walk by people.

Absolutely. And I'd rather hang out with a few people on a farm around a campfire than head to a bar/club in the city.

Fair enough, we are def at different places in our lives. I might have your view in about 5 years if I am not single anymore. I'd be more than down to visit somebody who lives on that landscape though.

Def not a fan of fail club bars, but DC has some good divey bars. I did the whole small town bar scene, and it just isn't fun for meeting new people. To each his own though.

not living in the city and a simpler life can be achieved anywhere in the United States. I think I'd choose Alaska over ND.

I'll stay in the contiguous United States. And I even said I'm not moving to ND, my wife wouldn't allow it. I just said it seems like a place I'd like. There are a lot of states I'd like that I probably have no shot of moving to (Idaho, Wyoming, Montana, etc).

RE: Alaska.
Alaska does extremely well on personal freedom, however, scoring first on the freedom index’s ranking. Reasons for this score include the fully legalized possession of small amounts of marijuana (accomplished through a court ruling); among the least restrictive gun control laws in the country, including the right to carry concealed weapons without a permit; low incarceration and drug arrest rates; and possibly the least restrictive homeschooling laws in the country.
If only they were part of the lower 48.

Because no one wants to live anywhere where they'd have to pass through Canada to get anywhere.
