Beaches are overrated.

Ya may go out there for a hour or so. ALl ya do is come back smelling and sandy.

Outerbanks is cool Went there a few years ago. Spent a little bit of time at the beach each day but more hassle than anything. Find a place that you have your own pool lke we did there and you are gold and will ahve much more fun.

Same thin panama city beach a few summers ago. By the time ya pack your shit together for the beach, and we were just across the street, and walk to where you want, unload and stuff it just was never worth it.

The place I suggested doesnt have many beaches. The campground has one, the Inn has one, and I think just one other one....very small....30 feet wide maybe, and can only be used by the small amount of places in the associatio there of which w eare lucky enough to usually be in. There is a huge grass area that most people stay on and not the beach. ALways a blast. sunday is usually keg day, and ya boat, swim, fish, jet ski, and drink all day then resort back to your cabins/houses for a campfire then repeat

lol...to each his own. Beaches are great if you hit the right one. You must have been doing it wrong.

How long did it take you to "pack ya shit" and walk across the street?

I had a good time when I went, but I also went with a bunch of ppl in college. It was a solid SB destination with a lot of bars etc.. Outside of spring break looked like a good family environment. I don't think I'd enjoy it at this point in my life. With kids I think it's a solid place, and as an idiot in college looking to day drink on the beach and get rowdy at bars it was also a good time.

We just got back from a week at Pensacola Beach, FL. It's about a 13 hour drive (840 Miles +-) from Columbus and is a very nice beach. There's quite a bit to do but it's not overrun with commercial ventures. The beaches are clean and the white sand is great. We spent one morning at Pensacola Naval Air Station where we saw the Blue Angels perform (they usually do that 2-3 times a week) and then spent time at the Naval Air Museum and the Pensacola lighthouse which I found to be incredibly interesting.
