Hopefully ludwick isn't injured badly. Need him. This first month is a brutal one for reds.

It looked like Luddy told the trainer that "it popped out"

Great now the trainers are looking at Cueto

The way Ludwick reacted, he slid, appeared fine (didn't appear to be acute pain), tried to lift the shoulder and immediately realized something wasn't quite right. He walked off not being able to even hold the arm up. Appeared to be a dislocation. If so, he's gone probably a month or more. Heisey always wanted the starting job...here you go, AGAIN.

I didn't see it, did he slide feet first?

No, it was a head first slide.

Head first, led with the right shoulder. But he then pushed himself up on the base and appeared fine, then raised the arm and had a "WTF" reaction. Classic "pop out." Maybe it will be less than a month, but from my understanding (never had it happen to myself), a dislocation like that can leave an extremely painful bruise/swelling.

At least it's not his throwing arm, but still. He's gotta swing the bat...

The sooner it gets to the pen, advantage Reds. I'd like to see Chapman today, but kind of hope he's not needed.

So he jerked the shoulder out grabbing the bag to keep himself from oversliding as he was going in hard to get the extra base. Head first slides are the wrong thing to do!

It actually looked like it jammed up while he started the slide. There was no give in the dirt. Watching the replay, both arms actually got jammed up, one right after the other. But the right arm took the brunt.

Brandon Inge would tell Ludwick to pop it back into place and quit being a *****.

Last 9 years (2005 to 2013), the Reds have had 9 different lead off hitters. Name them.

Freel
Phillips
Choo
Stubbs
Tavaras (sigh)
Patterson (sigh)
Cabrera?
Cozart?
Lopez?

Can't think of many other possibilities.

I just saw a replay and he didn't go in that hard and definitely didn't jerk it out by grabbing the base.

According to Twitter, it's officially a dislocated shoulder for Luddy.

Cueto has to work hard to have a successful final inning. 105 pitches, 9 Ks, 3 H, HR, 1 non-intentional BB.
