Indiana is really soft and seemed like they didn't know Syracuse ran a zone. Outplayed and out coached. Congrats to Syracuse on the win

Hulls and Ferrell were enveloped by the top of the Syracuse zone and they were too small to defend the Syracuse guards. Great performance by Syracuse.

Exactly. 'Cuse was a bad match up for Indiana.

Not a bad excuse.

Fact--Indiana just wasn't a threat to go to the Final Four. They played great at times this year, but anyone with eyes could see they weren't winning anything. Not to mention, they played like shit towards the end of the year, which is never a good recipe for the MM tourney.

You can say the Cuse were a bad matchup. I say the Cuse were just a better team; and have a better coach/had a better gameplan.

Nope, it's fact. If I had to break college hoops down into tiers...Syracuse would be mid-to-top 2nd tier IMO.

This is only the 5th or 6th time Boeheim has ever made the Elite 8 I believe. He hasn't been a great tournament coach in his career.

LOL...why would I make an excuse for a team I despise? 'Cuse was definitely the better team tonight. Some teams just don't match up well with other teams, that's all I'm saying.

Seems to me, and maybe I'm wrong, but he has a tendency to do better in the tourney with his teams that aren't expected to do much.

Not really saying YOU are making an excuse..just saying that was the excuse all year. Every time they lost they had a bad matchup...a lot of people outside of B1G territory thought IU wasn't as great as they were made out to be. I mean they lost 3 of their last 6 games, yet they were a LOCK for a #1 seed. They definitely had the bias in their favor.

It feels like the committee took into account to many variables in putting these this bracket together.
I think the committee felt obligated to give the B1G a #1 and Indiana seemed like the obvious choice. And I don't necessarily fault them for giving Indiana a #1. They had quite a few quality wins, everyone in the country had a 5-7 losses if they played in a real conference (aka not Gonzaga). The real problem was Gonzaga getting a #1. There is a reason not many people were picking them to come out of the west. Most fans knew they were a fraud. People say that they took care of business and earned it by not losing too many games. I think that's crap, their SoS was awful for a #1 seed. Just because you have less losses doesn't mean you're a good team.

I don't mind how the seeding went though as OSU getting a #2 in Gonzaga's region was a blessing. OSU was essentially the real #1.

Now hopefully OSU can beat Wichita tomorrow!

Indiana may have been over valued by the committee but this was still a horrible match-up. IU's guards are both below 6'0" and Syracuse' guards are over 6'4". That is the definition of a bad match-up.There is a reason the Hoosiers starting guards were scoreless while Syracuse' guards poured in 38 points.

I do think Zeller has cost himself some cash. He was ineffective and his lack of explosiveness was evident. How many of his shots were blocked?

I'm not so sure Zeller goes this year. Didn't his brother stay at UNC to graduate? Zeller has been exposed as soft between Wisconsin, OSU, and a few other games including this one. A good friend of mine went to IU undergrad so he's a big fan and constantly complains about how soft Zeller is especially the second half of this season.

That is my point. ESPN's preseason Wooden Award capsule on Zeller shows, IMO, how far down the board he could fall.

Cody Zeller, F, Indiana: Zeller (15.6 ppg, 6.6 rpg, 1.2 bpg, 1.4 spg), an Associated Press preseason All-American, is arguably the top returning player in the country. His return -- he would have been a lottery pick in last summer’s NBA draft -- positioned Indiana as the No. 1 team in America entering the 2012-13 season.

No way Oregon wins unless you're talking just against the spread. Think Duke beats Michigan State but agree with the other 2.

Not bad. I like all 4. History says FGCU either wins or goes out getting blasted. Oregon getting 10 is great with how they are playing. The only spread I'd be nervous about is the KU game, because I'm not sold on them winning.
