Lol at the "coaches" on here pretending they know more about OSU's team than Coach Matta. Shooter's shoot, defender's defend, rebounder's rebound. Know your personnel, then play them accordingly. I'd say Thad's done a pretty good job with this, don't you?

Yeah, but Matta only graduated from Butler, so with his B1G degree, Sleeper's totally tons more accomplished and knowledgeable about how to do his job.

More media generated garbage. Aaron Craft does all 3; as well as provides leadership. I'll give Thomas credit in that he plays on the defensive end of the floor, but when it comes to his offensive game, I'd rather have Lenzelle Smith Jr. take every shot than chucker DeChuck Thomas.

I'm not pretending to know more than Matta does. I'm simply pointing out that 17pts on 19 shots is terrible, no matter how you slice it. And since Thomas is shooting a pretty miserable 44% on the season, it's not exactly an aberration.

He's a volume scorer who puts up a lot of shots. That boosts his scoring average but doesn't help the team.

If Matta's so great, tell me how many B1G coach of the year awards has he won? ANYONE can win the B1G tournament but it takes something special to win the coach of the year and look like the grinch. lol

I'm not an osu fan just an outsider but Thomas' ability to score opens up a lot for other players. He might jack up shots but he almost has to bc no one else can create there own shot really. Honestly Thomas is at his best when he's in the post shooting that 5-10 foot jumper with occasionally stepping out to the 3 pt line

I can agree that 44% isn't spectacular, if you look at the lineup there's not really anyone who would seem more obvious to get those shots. (unless you want Ravenel and Thompson taking the shots. Most of their shots are from inside and I agree those are better shots, but I don't think those two should really be the focus of our offense.)

Thomas - 44%
Craft - 43%
Smith - 44%
Ross - 47%
Thompson - 50%
Ravenel - 50%
Scott - 40%

17pts on 6-19 shooting isn't something to celebrate. It's a reason to have anyone else shoot.
He shoots a lot, granted, but it seems many have forgotten how his actual selection has improved over a year ago which imo has been the difference. Not to mention, when he's on he's pretty unstoppable and no one complains then. Dude averages @ 20pts., regardless of number of shots, not going to get those points from a bench player.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure the selection chair said that Dook got in the Louisville bracket because of the pod system. They wanted to keep teams closer to home and they favored OSU in that case.

Now I know you're just arguing for the sake of arguing. Smith is only better than Amir Williams.

It's a joke. Smith sucks. Should be benched along with Thomas.

Unfortunately, Ravenal can't play the whole game. I don't think Williams is all that great, but he's good for his role. He needs to add some muscle/weight if he's ever going to be an NBA player.

Being that you are in TV, where do you think the Duke-Cincy/Creighton game or Albany-Cincy/Creighton (:D) will tip Sunday? I can't fathom it would be the noon game. I was thinking evening, around 5:30? Not sure if you would have an idea or not. I can't find anything anywhere.
It looks like 6 of the 8 games Sunday tip at 5 pm or later:

Thanks for the link. I thought that there were more late games than usual last year.

I bet that Indiana plays one of the two earlier slots, which might help Laley. If Duke wins against Albany (sad that I cannot confidently say that), not sure Duke-Creighton/Cincy would warrant a stand-alone spot, but I wouldn't be surprised if they want to make sure the entire nation is able to see Duke lose.
