I drank underage starting when I was 15, but have never smoked weed or done any other illegal drug. I have also never smoked a cigarette, and I plan to keep it that way.

None of my close friends did drugs when we were in school, but I would say that for the most part I didn't notice much drug use at all until 9th grade and beyond. I am from a very small town where everyone know everything and nothing is ever a secret. We also had random drugs testing for athletes. I think both contributed to the majority of people I knew staying clean. I have just never had any desire to do drugs whatsoever.

I was from a small town too, but it didn't seem to stop anyone from doing drugs.

Oh, don't get me wrong. There was plenty of drug use going on. We were actually featured on Oprah and 20/20 regarding our heroin epidemic. So proud. But in general, the people I was close to were not into drugs. I was an athlete, as were most of my friends. We did our share of drinking during the off-season, but that was really all I ever personally witnessed.

I've been reading a little about DMT and I wish I was still in college because I think this stuff looks really interesting. Won't touch any drugs today because it's not possible to have my career and partake. I do think drugs can be a positive thing for the right person.
