Congrats to the Orrville baseball team and to coach Scott Marshall. Scott has always been committed to improving Wayne County baseball (particularly Orrville), and it's great to seen that dedication pay off. Still two more games to win though....good luck Red Riders!

Of the big three sports if you had to rank when the better team doesnt win as often it would be baseball.Red Rider;1449963 wrote:Yes Lex was state ranked. We were state ranked too at one point. Yes, any team can win on any given night...that is evidenced by the fact that somehow Mansfield Senior won a game this year. They always manage to win at least one...including beating us in 2011 for their only win that year. It doesnt mean we weren't the better tam and it certainly doesn't mean we shouldn't have expected to win.
Baseball is not unique in that something can go right or wrong for either team. That is the nature of sports and is why we bother playing the game. It is tremendously satisfying to be an underdog and steal a victory. As many of us can attest over the past 2 years, it is pure agony to be the heavyweight that repeatedly gets knocked out by Buster Douglas week after week.
I expect we will win tomorrow. We should win tomorrow. Will we? Flip a coin, baseball is a funny game.
In football, the better team wins at a very, very high clip. Basketball is a little bit less, and baseball is the sport where I think at times you see a little more head scratching at some of the results at times.
Could be an ace vs the better teams 4th or 5th guy. Better team could hit atom balls all day and the lesser team get some bleeders and duckfarts to score some runs. Just see more upsets in baseball than the other two

You are unlikely at this point in the tournament to see a "4th or 5th" guy. Aces are going to match up, and whoever has the best will have a huge advantage.....but on any given day.....

Oh I know. I meant more during the regular season and such.HitsRus;1621908 wrote:You are unlikely at this point in the tournament to see a "4th or 5th" guy. Aces are going to match up, and whoever has the best will have a huge advantage.....but on any given day.....
This time of year it is all 1-2, maybe a 3 in relief!
Come regional time I like to see those second games in two days to see who has the better staff instead of the better ace.
