Thanks for all your great insight though. Really adds to the thread. I was hoping you would be able to give some good info on the f150 but instead you provide nothing.

I did.. don't buy it since you don't need it.. gas mileage is terrible. Ecoboost isnt bad gas mileage for a truck but you wont find one under $40,000.

Ecoboost gets 2 mpg more than the 5 l v8 or the same as a Tacoma. I'm looking at 36,000 out the door for the 150 and 34,000 out the door for the Tacoma

The new ones look pretty good though. I'm a little scared of the f150 seeing as how Zwick didn't come in and support it.

Good point ironman. I can't think of any.

Yeah...I don't know shit about trucks as I've always had a civic or an accord, but I've never heard a Toyota owner be unhappy with their purchase.

As for MPG....WTF does someone who spends $50,000 on a truck care about gas mileage?

Sounds like you shouldn't get a truck at all then. The environment and gas cost.

There is no truck like the F150. Sales prove it. If the truck sucked, it wouldn't be at the top for like 40 straight years.

My grandfather's F150 had 280,000 miles on it before he got hit by another vehicle.. His recent one has over 120,000 miles.

A lot of towing/hauling as well.

I like F150s but sales don't "prove" anything, just that it's popular. *See Album sales of Backstreet Boys, NSYNC, Lady Gaga, etc..

What happened to album sales of Backstreet Boys, NSYNC, etc...?

They surely didn't have #1 hits for ~40 years, therefore that comparison is invalid.

It's all about staying power...

That's only because the 1500 sales are split between Chevy and GMC. There are many times they have sold more than Ford.

Chevy and GMC are two different makes. The F150 is one. That'd be like tallying up Ford and Lincoln sales to compare to another vehicle.

They are the same truck. Lincoln doesnt sell the focus branded as a Lincoln. Both the Chevy and the GMC are k1500's and c1500's.

He wants a truck but not to haul or tow anything.

How long you plan on keeping the truck? Will you get close to 100k miles?

I'd bet the Ford lasts easily into 100k miles with little upkeep. My only negative on Fords is their steering and suspension which eats bushings.

Still think the Nissan is a better truck overall. Maybe a slightly smaller bed and not as good of gas mileage when ya stomp on it.

Lots of people like the Tacoma. Only drove my buddies a few times. No opinion.

Yeah, the Lincoln Mark is an expensive F150. Unfortunately they don't even make them anymore due to low sales.

But here was the sales when they DID
