I did round wrong. $1900 split into 24 checks is $79 per check, I just rounded to 160 per month, but then still used 1900

Does it?? Because you are using the IRS as a savings account, and they use your money as a loan. You are giving the government a 0% loan.

I claim 0 most of the year so I can get a bigger return. I usually change it around october so I have extra cash for christmas. The interest I make on 100 a month really aint worth worrying about. I will be getting 1200 and will just put it into the bank for use as I see fit.

I said it is "like" a savings account. As in, similar characteristics but different in nature.

Anything less than $500 is merely the "cost of doing business". Most are just going to use the exemptions, they will choose 4, rather than "5 and $15"

Next time someone starts a thread on being a condescending prick, I'll be sure to ask for your expertise.

Alright let's just drop it. I agree with you. $1,900 back is too much.

Yep, already took the $1000 credit off of my estimated payments and will be using it to help pay for daycare.

I just said it - someone had to do it for his own good. He certainly doesn't look to be responsible for making his own financial decisions now does he?

Not necessarily true. In our case my going to school coupled with having a kid took our federal from 717 to 4800.

You can still spread those credits throughout the year. I spread the child tax credit out over the year already on my wifes, and I know our daycare costs, so I already reduced everything by that amount as well.

Ill take the big return. Taxes taken out is money I never see any way. So the return is always nice.

But you do see that money, in the return. That is your money the government held onto. It's not a magical gift from the IRS.
