No need to be, "sorry." :huh:Half Full Nelson;1393531 wrote:Don't get me wrong...I think Fickell was great, and agree that he'd probably pin everyone on this list. But, the fact that he happened to be a heavyweight and was thus larger than (almost) everyone else listed...well, you get my point. I don't think Fickell was a better all-around wrestler than David Taylor, or Allen Fried, sorry.

Someone should just ask Bob Dieli who HE thinks is the greatest Ohio HS wrestler of all-time. Whatever he says will be etched in stone as gospel, and all future debates on the subject will be moot.MPhillips;1393569 wrote:16 yr old Fried wrestling Smith. Dieli announcing! Doesn't get much better.

...which is why we don't ask!
Nor do we ask him the best weights for high school wrestling, or which rank-er is best, or, the ever popular, state v. states!!!

Interesting...wow, you mean Coby Boyd didn't invent this? Unbeleivable.
George Hackenschmidt, known as the Russian Lion, was born in Russia, but lived nearly all his life in London.
His specialty was Graeco-Roman, but he made a match with Gotch at the American Style. The contest took place in Chicago on April 3, 1908, and Hackenschmidt quit after a rough combat lasting two hours and three minutes.
He was an amazing athelete with an unparrelled physique for his time, and an attention to technique that matched. Here he describes the Head Chancery Hold, as taught in his book COMPLETE SCIENCE OF WRESTLING.
"There are points which no wrestler should fail to study thoroughly. He must remember that ther are counters to most wrestling holds, and that just at the moment he is congratulating himself that he is on the high road to victory, he is frequently in serious danger of defeat."---- George Hackenschmidt

Jamie gets looked over quite a bit. The fact alone that he's still competing should get him a mention. That and he had regualr seaon records of something along the lines 62-0, 54 or 55-0(Which at the time was a National record) 28-1, Loss came in the state finals.
A Summit Station legend from the Ken Ash dynasty. The best ever from Licking Heights.
He deserves a mention, I agree hang_loose. Thanks.
