I bought my wife a purse for Valentines Day. She has a thing for purses, but because she's such a bargain hunter, she's never gotten a nice one for herself.

My mother got her a Coach one for Christmas one year, and she seemed to love it. If that sounds similar to how you'd react (likes designer, but wouldn't buy for yourself), here's my question:

If I was to buy her a Louis Vuitton purse for Valentine's Day, do you think she'll be mad about it, happy about it, or both?

I'm sure she will love it. Maybe even just put a single rose in it as well.

I love him but I hate him when he buys me gifts. Especially anything expensive. I don't hesitate to spend that kind of money on my kids or my man, but I would never spend that on myself. I'm frankly embarrassed to have money spent on me, but adore him for doing it. I'd go with it especially if she loved the Coach. Not personally a fan of Brighton...(jewelry yes, bags no)...

her money is your money and vice versa - do you feel comfortable dropping that kind of cash on a bag?

Only problem with purses is....women are very fussy about what they like in a purse. I personally would not spend a lot of money on a purse for a woman because it's such a personal preference type thing. Plus for a Hallmark holiday, I think it makes it foolish. Get her a massage / mani / pedi.

You might want to check out Marshalls. It's kind of hit or miss but my wife loves shopping for purses (or anything really) there.

If someone is going to be spending that much money on me, it better be on a high end watch, preferably an Omega.

I would do this. LV is ridiculously expensive. Coach is expensive but somewhat reasonable. Get her a giftcard for $250 and she'll be able to get something really nice. You couldn't even get a LV wallet for that.

It could be expected with someone like fwk, but there seems to be quite a few on here that know WAY TOO MUCH about purses.

My GF loves Coach, I got her a gift card to Coach (which she should be able to use at Coach Factory Stores) and she loved it. My advice, get the GC, unless she's picked out a specific purse at LV that she likes.

LV purses are ugly, IMO. I would much rather have a nice, attractive purse from elsewhere.

According to my girl Coach is out because everyone has them now LV is the new "coach". She also said the new must haves are Rose Gold Watchs.

That said were planning a wedding this year so all she gets is a trip to the melting pot and some roses.

Damnit. Don't confuse me. I was just going to get the gift card on the way home from work.
