I have been dabbling on sports betting since the football season and I noticed a few things that I'm unsure of.

Sometimes games will be posted and there will be dashes acrossed all lines...the O/U, the moneyline and the spread. Are there reasons why I cannot bet on these games? An example is tonights Wright State/Valpo game. I can't bet on any aspect of it, but they let me bet on other pointless games like Missouri State/Indiana State.

I also noticed on some games, betting will be open for an amount of time and then hours before the game is set to start, everything <strike>gets striked out like this</strike>.

Any other gamblers know what the deal is on those?

Hope this helps.

Players being ruled out due to injury or whatever can take games off the book. Do you have a current example of something you can't bet on?

For the dashed lines, I would assume it's considered "off". Normally they just take down the game completely. A line/game might be "off" because the bookmakers are waiting for more information to be available. For example, if a QB gets injured, they won't set that teams line until it's clear if he will be playing.

Wright State game in my OP is an example. Also, the Nuggets/Raptors game is striked off the books at the moment. WSU game simply doesn't have a line or anything.

not sure on the Wright State game, but it looks like Gallianari and Iguodala are out tonight. I checked that game out only because its more likely there is more info regarding that game than a WSU. Could be something similar though.

Beats me. AFAIK, there are no injuries on the WSU game. I also noticed another Horizon League game that is all dashes tonight too. Maybe nobody gives a shit about it, hence no betting.

Other gambling sites have the WSU game at WSU -1, so you'd think they'd open it up.

They did eventually post the game I was looking for, but not until about an hour before tip. I ended up losing anyway. I recovered my losses x3 last night on the Dook game.

Odd. I have tried a couple times in the past and have been declined. Heard my only option was money order/western union or use an international credit card.

Bovada is the same way. Only Visa.

And when you place a bet, it always comes across your statement as something random.

It's terrible..they're making me send a copy of my driver's license and a letter with my mailing address on it. Then it takes 6-8 weeks to get the money lol

Damn 6-8 weeks? Normally I've always gotten my check from sports book in like 2 weeks maybe 3 at the longest.

Do you do the "mail" category? Check/Gift Card...says 6-8 weeks, but does say "up to 6-8 weeks"

Did you have to verify your DL and address?
