This. Happened while I was walking around Cedar Point. One minute it was fine and then I took one step and the pain was awful. The first few days were terrible and I had a very hard time walking. It took several weeks for it to heal.

Nice fail. The only one that doesn't actually help is your last quoted phrase.

Maybe you should've dunked it.

I once knew a gym teacher who broke (or sprained?) his ankle playing 21 in the gymnasium.

About two years ago this injury stopped me from my first Tough Mudder event. Just when I thought I was getting better it happen again about 2 months ago …. The best I can hope for is to slow run the Tough Mudder event now .. to add to my bucket list..

Between that injury and a major hamstring pull within weeks of each other my running options have been limited to slow …

I have suffered from it for several years. I've been to the Doctor's office and Urgent Care many times. They all have told me the same thing, once it flares up there is not much you can do except rest it and take pain meds until it heals. The worst part is, now that you've had it once, you are much more susceptible to getting again. I have had some success with heel pads helping to ease the pain. You might want to try that. Good luck, I don't envy you, it hurts like hell.

Wrap it in bacon. Bacon fixes everything (as I've said before). ;)
