Could the Ravens realistically make a run at Dumervil? They are pretty strapped to pay him his 8 to 10 million he will command.. Along with Pitt I saw they were interested.
Also Adam Shefter tweeted that Pitt made a run at Jake Long, made me lol. He signed with the Rams 4 years 36 million, and some people on these boards think he is as good as Joe Thomas.

I had heard that with recent moves, Baltimore was now $8-10 million under the cap.shook_17;1408270 wrote:Could the Ravens realistically make a run at Dumervil? They are pretty strapped to pay him his 8 to 10 million he will command.. Along with Pitt I saw they were interested.

LOL not even close. You don't let your LT test the waters in FA if you think he is legit.shook_17;1408270 wrote:Could the Ravens realistically make a run at Dumervil? They are pretty strapped to pay him his 8 to 10 million he will command.. Along with Pitt I saw they were interested.

Just saw the numbers...Baltimore has about $10 million left to spend. Browns have $30 million.

Baltimore also has a lot of holes to fill. They won't be able to throw $10 million at Dumervil. The Flacco contract will go down as the worst in sports; he'll be out of the league in 2 years.

I'm not saying that he is obviously. Joe GOAT Thomas is the best in the game. But it makes me lol when people put Long on the same pedistool as Thomas.like_that;1408292 wrote:LOL not even close. You don't let your LT test the waters in FA if you think he is legit.

I agree with the contract part. Horrible horrible contract, it will come back to haunt them. But I highly doubt he is out of the league in two years.sleeper;1408311 wrote:Baltimore also has a lot of holes to fill. They won't be able to throw $10 million at Dumervil. Same Colt McCoy and Quinn are still in the league. He'll be in the league in two yrs, long as he isn't killed due to his line getting worse.shook_17;1408323 wrote:I agree with the contract part. jake long would immediatley be at least the steelers second best lineman depending on how you rate pouncey. i wish we could have got him...word is we had money and he was interested but it was late in the process and he may have already verbally commited to signing we rams.

Also looking over Baltimore's roster, if they signed Dumerville, pretty much proves how shitty they've drafted over past few seasons. They've taken pass rushers over the past 4 seasons in the top 2 rounds (Upshaw, Kindle), not a back up leaves and they have to sign a high priced FA to fill the shoes? I don't see it.

McCoy and Quinn aren't making $20 million a year.Commander of Awesome;1408326 wrote:Same Colt McCoy and Quinn are still in the league. He'll be in the league in two yrs, long as he isn't killed due to his line getting worse.

Flacco's contract is no surprise. These guys just keep "one uping" each other. Flacco's contract was greater than Brees.' Stafford, Ryan, Romo & Rodgers are all coming up. A few of those guys will eclipse Flacco's deal. Now except for Rodgers, are any of those guys better than Brees? Just part of doing business in the NFL.

Lol at mentioning McCoy and Quinn in the same breath as Flacco. Anyways where did you hear the cap numbers for the Ravens? I was pretty certain they had like 20 before they signed Spears the other day and they are still talking about signing Dumervil and Harrison so I'm assuming 8-10 is off.

I was only using Quinn and McCoy as examples of terrible QBs that are still in the league and thus why Flacco would be in 2 yrs. Wasn't comparing them to Flacco in terms of skill.

The only QBs I'd "pay" are:BR1986FB;1408347 wrote:Flacco's contract is no surprise. These guys just keep "one uping" each other. Flacco's contract was greater than Brees.' 1. Brady
2. Peyton
3. Brees
4. Rodgers
Brady took a pay cut to win. Other than that, no one deserves "Flacco" money. Is Flacco even a top 10 QB? No.

Flacco isn't terrible; but for his money he is GARBAGE LEVEL terrible. Quinn and McCoy are terrible QBs but they are cheap, so they can hang in the league longer.Commander of Awesome;1408352 wrote:I was only using Quinn and McCoy as examples of terrible QBs that are still in the league and thus why Flacco would be in 2 yrs. I mean look at a guy like Haynesworth. He got a fat contract; 1 year later he's cut, he spends the next year jumping from team to team. What fast food company does he work for now?
Same will happen to Flacco. Ravens will miss the playoffs every year until they get either A) a top tier QB(read: not Flacco) or B) an average QB that doesn't stranglehold the cap(read: not Flacco). I mean when you have a top QB and you pay him top money; you're still going to win. The Ravens aren't good enough anymore to carry an average QB especially not with a complete rebuilding of a defense.

Ok. Well the one bet I have is that the Ravens will miss the playoffs and the other is that the Browns will win the division. Which one do you pick?DeyDurkie5;1408364 wrote:Name it.
