One of the baddest men to ever serve our country I am very lucky to have met him numerous times. Prayers go out to his family.

Kyle set the record for confirmed sniper kills at 150 and received multiple valor awards, including five Bronze Stars with Valor and two Silver Stars, according to US military records.

Admittedly the only US sniper I've heard of is Carlos Hathcock (look him up, the read is worth it), but this is definitely an odd...wtf, situation.

Going to check out kyle's book...

Kyle wrote the best-selling book, "American Sniper: The Autobiography of the Most Lethal Sniper in U.S. Military History," detailing his 150-plus kills of insurgents from 1999 to 2009.

I read the book, the 150 confirmed is just from one tour of duty, right? From my understanding he had hundreds of kills. Dude was stone cold and it's always interesting to get an insight into these guys minds.

He gave a great interview on Opie and Anthony, it's worth listen.

An American hero that deserved better. Not sure how a gun range would be the best place for someone suffering from PTSD. All kind of things wrong about this.

I'm just happy this guy wasn't a black man because we'd never hear the end of how white people are just so racist and black people need more benefits because of the color of their skin. The best way to fight racism is to use racism! We need more Rooney rules so black people can continuously be handicapped in life because they are getting everything due to the color of their skin. Isn't America great?

Geeze you're kind of a jerk aren't you? I asked because I was honestly wondering what way you thought they'd spin this. I'm very much a believer of our gun rights and am one of those teachers who thinks more needs to be done than sit and cower. In any event, I hope he and the man he was with rest in peace and am interested to hear more details.

Sorry...took your "How so?" as supporting the anti-gunners. I personally am torn on allowing teachers to carry in school. My "I'm sick of the sickos winning" side is all for seeing some teacher light up an armed assailant entering a school building but my "This could be a huge mistake" side sees a teacher's gun getting stolen and used to kill students or worse a teacher accidently shooting co-workers or students.

And yeah I'm kinduva jerk sometimes too.
