If you are the greatest of all time, then all the talent you play against is inferior. Thats why you are the greatest.2quik4u wrote:I was just merely pointing out that Bill Russell was playing against inferior talent.osu45804 wrote:So I guess they should just throw out all of the records from the 60's and 70's on back? While there were more white guys in the league during Russel's time, there were also fewer teams, which means the talent was not watered down, like it is today. Players like Nate Thurmond, Walt Bellamy,Wilt Chamberlain and Willis Reed provided some Hall of Fame competition for Russell and his black teammates:Satch Sanders, Sam Jones, and KC. If rings is the standard then no--because 7 wouldn't make him the GOAT. The ring argument is stupid. Not saying Kobe can't be considered the GOAT when he's done playing but the ring thing is just dumb.

7 MVP's? He got one, and as long as Lebron and Wade are in this league, that's all he's going to get.

Kobe seems to be ble to will his team to big victories. LeBron, well, he knows how to dance.
