Spike Mendelsohn. They also have branches in G'town and Crystal City now. I thought it was pretty good, not super awesome.

Yeah I love 145, although after creating your own burger and pounding some good beers it can be pretty damn expensive. My next choice is usually Nick and Jimmy's.

A few. Brickskeller near Dupont Circle has some of largest selection of beers in the world.
RFD in Chinatown has over 35 taps.
And Birch and Barley's, near Logan Circle, has over 40 taps.

Yeah same here. Solid, not awesome. Fries and shakes were the best part.
DC may suck the life out of ya, but I'd say it has some of best places to eat and grab a drink in the country.

Nick and Jimmys is great, but I think I like 145 slightly better in Toledo. But, that might be because the truffle fries put it over the top and not the actual burgers lol.

I'm a but biased since my cousin basically helps run bar 145, but I've never seen the type of toppings and sauces they have anywhere else. Plus when I go I get a bunch of free appetizers and what not. Btw try the glazed green beans. I hate green beans but I love them.

if you are ever out in the arena district late night the hungry monkey food truck has a great selection of burgers and cheesteaks

My best friend worked at Mohawk for a while. They do have good food.

Four others:
The famous Ray's Hell Burger in Arlington, VA
BGR (The Burger Joint), in Dupont Circle and other places around the city.

I had BGR. It was solid, nothing too crazy imo. Granted I was pretty drunk at that point. I heard of Good Stuff Eatery. I have heard good things.

FIFY in bold. Not sure how DC sucks the life out of you, almost been here a year and haven't regret moving here yet. I am sure New Yorkers will tell you how DC is a wannabe foodie town and their places to eat are subpar at best though.

Johnny's Tavern on Trabue Road in "downtown" San Margharetia OH (between Upper Arlington and Hilliard on the NW side of Columbus). It's truly a old-fashioned neighborhood bar and grill - don't go here looking for exotic IPA's. The Hot Cheese burger is wonderful, and they officially have the coldest beer in Columbus.

It's also just two blocks from the Private Dancer gentlemen's club - I'll let the other C-bus posters comment on THAT fine establishment. :laugh:

John's Bar in Canton has Buffalo Burgers that are very good. The meat come from a local farmer

As previously mentioned... Thurmans in Columbus is great. The dining area/bar is small so there is almost always a wait. I've found the best time to go is after 10PM if you don't care about eating really late. Other than that, expect at least a 1 hour wait.

Also, I recently made some burgers from some food channel show featuring burger places. It was the beef with some salt, pepper, cayenne, onion powder, garlic powder and worcestershire sauce. Topped with apple wood bacon, lettuce, tomato and then the "sauce" is a crunchy peanut butter mixed with a little natural maple syrup. Thing was damn good.

Is that the place in Indiana....West Lafayette/Purdue University maybe? Saw a feature about the place...is called like XXX or something like that and it had a burger with peanut butter on it.. They have a drew brees sandwich...not sure if it is that sandwich though

Walked right in and sat down. At least 2 tables and all but 2 seats at the bar. This was around 12:15. Think it was too cold...people weren't out. Was nearly full when we left though.
