Back when I handled casualty claims, an accident like this, if it was literally tracked back to being "weather related" and not a clear negligent act by a single party, would likely absolve all liability on all parties unless it was blatantly obvious.Fab1b;1371294 wrote:Crazy stuff, would hate to be the vehicle that started it all though!
I had a 22-car pile up once and it was A) not feasible to interview all involved drivers and B) from the ones I talked to, it was very difficult to determine clear negligence. Everyone ended up being "on their own" for repairs and injuries, with a few agreed upon exceptions based on situation only.
I'd imagine these would be treated the same as no single person would possibly have the limits to cover the liability.
