I'm pulling for the Niners. Plus I couldn't live with myself if I ever rooted for the Ratbirds.

Thoughts? Predictions?

Colin Kaepernick isn't going to win the Super Bowl in start #10 of his pro career. Ravens win it. John gets bragging rights over Jim, sends Ray out a winner and dedicates the Lombardi to Art Modell. And gives a shout out to OJ Brigance.

lol the NFL turns a murderer or accessory to murder into their poster boy, gotta love it. The game will be better with out this piece of shit in it. He ratted out people so he wouldn't get convicted, what a great guy!

I think this game will come down to whether or not Flacco can keep making those tough throws. He'll need a couple of those plays and the Ravens will have to manage how much Kaepernick can run wild.

I think SF is 10 points better....but if Flacco hits a couple of those or they are +2 in turnovers....the Ravens can win. If the Ravens had Ladarius Webb I'd have them a TD closer.

Ravens have a shot in this one but they haven't faced a defense like San Francisco's yet. Will be interesting to see how Baltimore's defense will contain Kaepernick.

I wonder if the Ravens will make Kaepernick look like an inexperienced rookie or if Kaepernick flies around making the Ravens look old. The tendency leans to the Ravens make Kaepernick look inexperienced.....but Kaepernick may be a special exception, that and his defense is awesome.

Baltimore is going to have to contain that edge just like Atlanta did last night. Kaepernick didn't go off (against ATL) but the edge containment was so focused on not letting Kaepernick beat them that they were leaving gaping holes for the running backs to run through. Kind of a "damned if you do, damned if you don't" scenario.

If Kaepernick gets around the edge, Baltimore's screwed because they don't have the speed to catch him. But then again, what team does? Like you said "special exception."

I think the crowd noise kept Kaepernick as open to running....he couldn't have had the wherewithal to know when it's go time.

I'll assume the SB will be near 50/50 and the crowd noise shouldn't affect him much.

Btw....for posting quickness Colin Kaepernick needs a short nickname for use on here.

I'll ask like_that or COA to assist on this.

Let's see.

Baltimore: Rival of my team. Games always are close. There's a begrudging respect. That's tempered by the knowledge that Ray Lewis will be Bettis v2 for the next two weeks.

San Fran: Don't really care about. In college, I did drunkenly swipe a 49ers ball cap, which I still own even though I never wear it (and I think it might be in a box in the basement of my parents' house, too). I guess I did love using them in the classic Tecmo Super Bowl, due to how you'd win most games by 50 points because it was generally impossible for the computer to stop them.

I don't think I'll really be cheering for or against anyone for any reason other than my buzz for that evening telling me which way to care.

It might sound like blasphemy but Steeler fans DO actually have a reason to root for the Rats. SF is 5-0 in Super Bowls. If they get this one they tie Pittsburgh for the most Super Bowl victories of any team. Plus, they're undefeated doing it.

I don't really think it's blasphemy for us the same way it would be for Cleveland fans.

For you guys, they stole your team and have been perennially in the playoffs and a legit contender most of the time....while the new Browns have struggled to build much of anything, with constant turmoil in the front office -- leading to that extra level of hate because what they're doing SHOULD have been done by you.

For us, they're the tough rival where every game seems to be this nail-pulling, teeth-grinding deal where the game will be ugly, hard-hitting, likely low-scoring and probably decided in the 4th or OT by 3-6 points. Where the animosity is tempered by respect. So, it's not hard to imagine me at least sort of siding with the Ravens just because there's a bit more respect than hate. Or at least enough respect that I'm feeling something besides hate when I see them.

You're different than most Steeler fans I know then. Most hate the Ravens bitterly.

1. As I've gotten older, I've mellowed a bit. Hell, most times when I'm at home watching a game, I have it on mute and am working out to music, so I'm not as diehard as I was.

2. I like to be entertained and it's rare a Pitt-Balti game doesn't entertain me. That's the sort of thing I remember when it comes to who to faux-cheer for when I really don't care about the outcome.

Know what you mean there. Most weekends, anymore, I'd rather be in the casino winning money than watching the Browns shit down their legs. They usually have the game on one of the TV's, even at Mountaineer, so I can still catch some of it if I want to.
