A wedding party came into my fav bar one saturday afternoon. One of the guys, a black dude, was from NYC I believe. He bought a beer (they were like 1.50 back then) and couldnt believe it was so cheap so he bought everyone taht was there a drink.....over 100 people.

You probably shouldn't ever buy a round then. I don't buy a round with the belief/hope that I get an equivalent amount in return. I buy a round because I want to share with my friends not because I want my friends to feel obligated to reciprocate.
