I teach an introductory business class, where we cover entrepreneurship. I've never seen a show more applicable.

They're really good at understanding trends and use the four Ps pretty damned effectively. I mean they're able to charge like $4 for a cup of coffee, people recognize their logo, the seem to have a handle on where to put locations (probably have a decent DSS for that like McDonald's), etc. They seem to understand the wants/needs of their customers as well since they've always been one of the first major chains to have things like WiFi in all their stores, they're moving to Square as a payment system/embracing new methods, etc.
Apple is the ultimate marketing company. There has to a documentary on them somewhere.

I don't think its a bad thing. I learned absolutely nothing in school until I went to Ohio State. The University turned me from a schmuck with no knowledge to a schmuck with too much knowledge.

Videos provide REAL WORLD examples, where students can see application to what they learned. It definitely isn't a bad thing.

Look up BGSU Hatch. I'll be taking my students to it in the Spring. A local Shark Tank program, where local investors invest in BGSU Student entrepreneurial ventures. Pretty sweet. Yes... I'm one of THOSE teachers.

Blow is a movie you could show your students.

I know man I agree with you. I had a bunch of teachers in high school that showed videos multiple times per week. I still learned nothing but the extra sleep sure was worth it especially given anything they taught me was useless anyway. Remember cursive and how we were supposed to use that in every day life? Never touched. Remember spending all that time learning about the American revolution? Nope, no one gives a damn. Remember learning geometric proofs? Nope, don't need proofs just faith.

However, I did learn a crap ton in college and we never watched videos so YMMV.

Not surprised you don't understand.

You're the smart guy asking a message board (that has the collective intellect of a 13 year old) for advice on what movies to show in class because you're too lazy to:

1) come up with it on your own
2) Google it

Apple has done fantastically well to market themselves. 2000s were just excellence from them if looking at it from a business standpoint. iPod, iTunes, really growing into the role that they make computers for students, educators, and creatives, changing their frame of reference in 2007 by dropping the computer from their name the same day they announced the iPhone, the success they've had with the iPad, etc.

I'm not a loyal Apple user but they've done great work from a marketing standpoint.
