I would like to see some more stories, or some varied reporting on this.

This seems like literally the ONLY thing I can find on this (This, and other message boards posting this same story)....which I find a bit odd, admittedly.

The article I posted mentioned how people thought the judge was more or less blaming the parents for letting their daughter be in that situation and that's why the boys got off so easily. If that's true, the judge is beyond incompetent and needs to be relieved of his duty.

I think the main point is being missed here. Can you imagine the news coverage and outrage if a black girl was raped by 3 white guys? Sharpton and Jackson would be protesting and Obama would be offering his opinion. This has gone relatively unnoticed and somehow a hate crime isn't even mentioned.

well lets be honest the only time hate crime is brought up is when its a white person doing something to another race. It Zwick it doesnt matter if it is out of the norm or not, it still should be considered a hate crime. If she is the only white person the and three black kids plan to rape her, then drap her into a bathroom and then rape her, it's a hate crime.

Shouldn't be a hate crime unless they're sreaming "white devil bitch" when they're doing it. Just cuz they were different colors, doesn't make it a hate crime.

That has not been the standard set by the media and prosecutors around the country. Any crime against a minority by whites has pretty much been labeled a hate crime. Yet when the inverse happens it is never labeled a hate crime.


Following earlier precedents, they should be charged with a hate crime.

are you an attorney? please,don't insult us by telling us what you think should or shouldn't be considered a hate crime--if it were whites attacking blacks,it would be considered a hate crime unless proven otherwise(ala Duke lacrosse)---we live in a double standard society when it comes to racial injustices--that's just the way it is...
