It's also a fluke Massillon hasnt won a state title since teams had to earn it on the field too. Right Skank?
How long has it been? 40 years, or more?

Perhaps read his next post where he says it wasn't a fluke?

You pretty much named the vast majority of title winners. If you think it was any easy D2 tournament then that's your prerogative. The only easy team during that run was Hoban. Lexington with Courtney Avery at QB/DB, Medina Highland with Snook at LB/RB, Olentangy Liberty, and the beating the defending champs Anderson was easy as Hell. While breaking passing and individual receiving records. Very easyskank;1393799 wrote:Not so much a fluke, more like everything falling into place at the right time. I give them credit, they won the games that they had to, (tournament games that is, I think a Massillon 7th grade team could have gone 8-2 with their regular season schedule), fortunately for them, it was a pretty easy DII tournament that year. Also, with that regular season schedule, it's pretty easy to keep guys healthy and get your younger kids some valuable playing time.

I'm just giving my opinion, what YOU'RE thinking is, "I'll throw this championship in his face, that'll show him", all the while you're trying to compare the two schools and imply that SS has a better program than Massillon simply because of the title. I encourage you to look deeper son, while you were a large DII school playing the little sisters of the poor, we were a small DI playing Iggy, Moeller, Ed's, Elder, Mentor....Etc.
Also, by playing those schools, your kids were kept relatively healthy for a tournament run, and like I mentioned earlier, some youngens most likely got some PT during garbage time. All the while we were getting knocked around by the big boys. Hopefully, and I'm being very serious here, we meet up in the new DII setup. You guys will of course be in, I just hope we can navigate our schedule with GlenOak, Fitch, McKinley, nationally ranked St. Joe out of NJ, St. V and possibly Ignatius or St. Ed. But hey....Good luck against Rossford.
And to you sept. All I have to say is, Massillon contacted Dover about both of our week #4 openings and Dover declined, that 34-0 spanking (with our starters sitting midway through the 3rd) still must sting.

LOL. SJR was ranked #98 in one poll, and now they're some kind of ball-buster.

Since playing Iggy and Ursuline you've dropped them and added Stow, Akron Garfield, Akron Hoban, etc. 2008 was your last year playing a heavy hitter like Mentor, Iggy, or Ursuline. In 2008 you made the playoffs at 6-4 in 2011 you went 7-3 and didn't make it because of the weakening of your schedule. I would never say that SV is a better program than Massillon that's absurd. You guys have the most storied program in Ohio HS football and probably the country. Like the braniac you are you keep bringing up Rossford who hasn't been in our conference in a few years. All of us don't have the luxury of being independent we play 7 conference games. I have been the first one to say that our out of conference schedule has been weak in the past. But the initial comment that got you all worked up was speaking of how we have beefed that up with our new AD. In 2013 we've added D2 State Champ Toledo Central Catholic and Findlay, last year we played the winningest program in Michigan and state runner up Muskegon.
So once again the conversation was about schools not scheduling private schools. I never mentioned Massillon until you had to jump in and slam Southview pal.

Since I rarely venture into the HS forums, I didn't realize you were a Southview guy until I read through this thread. I am good friends of the Murphey family (Sview), and even though my nephews attend Nview, I pulled for Sview during their championship run. That being said, IMO (and many S'View fans' as well), Mayzes is an asshole. If you read my posts I feel the same way! They should have canned him after the second incident, dude isn't bright at all! But from what I understand he has no more chances. Isn't Murphy the kid that caught the winning TD in the title game?

I know, I was just confirming what you said. Yes, Paul Murphey caught the pass, and his old man STILL talks about it-lol.rmolin73;1394597 wrote:If you read my posts I feel the same way! drink that cool aid . Who cares how many people showed up at this combine. All it's about is for college scouts to get some statistics from all the local kids in the area. I am sure Washington will use it for a recruiting tool but it's not going to get them a state title on the field .

Our "local area" includes 14 states, 2 countries, and Washington D.C. I know that your "local area" only includes West Virginia. We also brought in 7th and 8th graders this year in addition to the high school athletes. If we can get them in 7th or 8th grade, we can red-shirt them as 8th graders and get an extra year.steubbigred;1594156 wrote:drink that cool aid . Who cares how many people showed up at this combine. You will care when we beat you yet again. You will have many excuses, but the bottom line will be that you will have only beaten us 5 out of 48 attempts. To put this dominance into perspective, Indiana does better against Ohio State in football than Big Red has done against us.steubbigred;1594208 wrote:Here you go dummy . You can brag all you want. How many times do you have to be told that I'm not a Massillon fan either? Does my screen name say GoTigers? Reading is hard!

Wise up dude, these tools are not Massillon people. Bundy is known Massillon hater & gochef is a 420 lb Massillon hater, I thought you have been around long enough to know these things. Oh, and if you're referring to me, I'm not for or against Massillon. IDGAF about the Tigers either way.
