Might not be an extinction event globally, but then an ice age would probably also follow.
I'm scared.

I'll be dead before the end of the world comes. Also, i'm not sure i want to live in the aftermath of this volcano erupting.

It's something like 45x65 KILOMETERS. When it explodes, it will be some 2500X more powerful than Mount St. Helens. Like 1M atom bombs going off simultaneously.

Ehh, if we can go another 100-200 years I'm sure we'll have the technology to prevent a full-scale eruption.

No prepping here. When the shit hits the fan, I'll be in the streets rioting with everyone else.

What could possibly prevent that?

I'm thinking they could drill/blast to create pressure reliefs (i.e. man-made volcanoes). There are already some naturally occurring pressure reliefs and run-offs, but obviously not enough to maintain permanent stability.

If we knew that, we wouldn't have to wait 100-200 years.

As a fan of the current-gen Fallout games, I'd say you need bottle caps. Lots and lots of bottle caps. They will be currency. Cig cartons, too. They're worth more in trades than most of the game's junk items.

I just hope when the end comes, we've developed a V.A.T.S. system. When it comes to wild gunfights, I need all the help I can get!
