Contrary to popular belief I’m not a Prepper yet </SPAN></SPAN>

I’m a half hearted Prepper. Just my overall life style I live I’m somewhat prepared for something’s that could happen. Over the past few months however the wife and I are starting a plan to be a little more of a Prepper. We prepared Bug out Bags and storing some foods (we already do canning so we have a start already), few more weapons, ammo, more dry food, additional water, additional equipment and medical supplies are needed. </SPAN>

Are you a Prepper? </SPAN>

If something happens where I need to be prepped like that, I'm not sure I want to survive.

Pretty good point. My only disappointment is that I do not own one single gun.

No, not really. Always have some cash and a few goods around, and some firewood. The wind storm and the last ice storm I think 2008 taught me a lesson. Got enough for a week or two. If its longer than that than America needs more help than I thought.
Show is funny to watch though and some people have some great ideas.

It not about you, what about your family when is their time
I&#8217;ve learned long ago we all have the instincts to live, survive and over come great odds there is a reason for that. My life, my time and I will say when it is over&#8230; Other that old age I&#8217;m not a quitter </SPAN>

Again it not about just you, so if you want to die everyone else you care about should also die

Sorry but when I gave life to my kids I had no intention to take it from them...

Not everyone lives with or near their family.

I don't prep. In fact, I have very little food in my apartment. I also have no weapons.

Heading in that direction. Never used to think about it, but now that we're expecting our first child I lay in bed and do a lot of "...what if " scenarios. Have since gotten my CCW and will be taking another home defense course.

I'm not thinking just home defense. I'm thinking stuff where you would have to bug out and hide in a bunker for weeks or months. Nuclear attack, EMP, etc. Zombie apocalypse , maybe?

I think the one thing I would be willing to fight against is some sort of tyrannic government act. But I just don't see that happening here in my lifetime.

I've asked my wife. She agrees.

Reminds me of a show where you are the only human left. Or very few left and it's just mayhem. Who would care to live for that?

What about financial collapse, natural disaster being prepared doesn&#8217;t hurt but how much hurt would it be not to be somewhat prepared?</SPAN>

Depending where you live and your property lay out, your home is the first area of refuge, gathering point for additional planning</SPAN>

It's only a problem if you think that prepping is worth your time.

I'm not, but I plan on starting some small scale prepping this year. Canning and stockpiling food will be the main thing.

How are you going to prepare for these, outside of storing food?

I know it sounds strange, but there is a difference between being prepared for normal stuff, and being a prepper for paranoid things that are very unlikely to happen. I enjoy watching preppers (the show), and half the reason is the crazy reasons people have for doing it.

I'm not considering "prepping" as storing up food and batteries for a storm.
