The Bionic battery was absolutely atrocious and Motorola is well aware of it. I want a phone that can occasionally browse the web, etc, not a laptop.
Very true. But you have to remember...the Bionic was Motorola's first LTE phone. And just like every other manufacturer, the first LTE phone made had absolutely atrocious battery life.

If you're happy with 8-9 hours of battery life (which you should be), you're going to be hard pressed to find a phone that doesn't meet that any more. Now that processors have improved, and manufacturers have tweaked everything to work correctly on the networks, 10 hours is pretty average. My response was more for the 19 hours of battery life expectation comment.

I'm actually quite happy with the phone since we FINALLY got the ICS update, and since I discovered this app, I get that 19 hours. :) The thread wasnt intended as a bitching about battery life thread. Just wanted to inform those with similar issues that might not have heard of the app.

Some of us actually go outside and spend the night at other's houses quite frequently.

Battery life shouldn't be an excuse.
Some of us have lives outside of having a phone with a touchscreen.

I'd rather spend my time plugging something else in. HEYO.

I'm 36 years old. I do not spend the night at friends' houses.

That smartactions app is a constant source of problems at work. It's the notorious for turning off data/email sync and not turning it back on.

What hurts smartphone batteries are LTE radios and the screen. Everything else has a marginal affect on the battery.

I've seen that. Sometimes it doesn't always do what you set it up to do. Can be intermittent even though it says it's working.

That being said I set up my times for driving to and from work.
