Hearing that Derek Anderson may be one of the first signings...

Browns closing in on a deal with Kruger. Wonder if this means Avril is a Colt?

Rather have Avril but I won't QQ over Kruger.

Still think we need another pass rusher, neither Kruger or Sheard are elite.

Brent Sobleski ‏@brentsobleski Possible additions of P.Kruger and J.Harrison may be ideal situation for Browns to draft Ansah at No.6

I'd be kinda pissed if they did this, in more ways than one. First, I think Harrison is done plus I'd hate him playing here. Second, not as high on Ansah as others. Third, I'd rather trade back a few spots and fatten up the O-Line with Warmack since it sounds like Levitre & Vasquez are likely not going to be options (pricey).

I wouldn't be pissed at all (besides Harrison, he's a POS and on the decline. Dont want his punk ass in our locker room infecting our young players).

I disagree with you highly on Ansah though, think he's the best pass rush prospect in this draft (though jordan is a better all around player). I wouldn't even be upset if we drafted him, got him to bulk up and he played the 5 tech.

I don't want to break the bank on a guard, so I'm fine with not signing Levitre or Vasquez and I don't want to spend a top 10 pick on a guard. Wouldn't QQ, but I think we need difference makers and I'm not sure a guard is a difference maker. Does Warmack = more wins? Maybe. Defensive player who sets the tone and the opposing OC is up late at night trying to scheme against definitely is.

Kruger and Sheard doesn't = elite pass rush IMO so while I'm happy getting Avril/Kruger, I still want a pass rush. IMO their like QBs, you need one to win.

Ansah's too much of a project, ala Wimbley, for my liking. Great athlete though.

Wimpy is an interesting comparision. Still have no idea how in the hell he goes from 11.5 sacks rookie yr to being a bum.

To me, Ansah is closer to JPP of the giants. My biggest gripe with Ansah is similar gripe that I have with Jones. Ansah is 23 (jones is 24). Much rather them be 20/21.

Colts
& Browns are the biggest free agent feud right now. They are battling over
several players

Don't like the sound of this, thats how you end up with overpaid FAs. Price of sucking and switching defenses I suppose.

Already heard that it's likely Avril & Welker land in Indy.

In addition to your tweet from Sobo about Kruger/Harrison/Ansah, I did hear that we have an offer of a 2nd rounder on the table for Sheard.

Buddy in my office just got a tweet right after Sobo's tweet. Not sure of the team. Also heard (unverified) Steven Jackson (Rams) to Pittsburgh.

Agreed. I don't like these "projects" trying to convert a guy who has been in the league a few years into a stand up 3-4 OLB when he's used to playing with his hand in the dirt.

#Browns '09 draft. 2d round, Brian Robiskie (36th), Mo Massaquoi (50th), Dave Veikune (52nd). #Ravens took Paul Kruger 57th.

Just meant, a lot of shit is thrown against the wall this time of year. Every year it's "Browns are SERIOUSLY interested in _____!" and nothing happens. It's not necessarily a bad thing, as I think in free agency, GMs are wrong more than they are right. But I usually take a "wake me up when this shit is over and let me know who we got" approach. Usually I'm left feeling incredibly underwhelmed and sad.

Matt Miller‏@nfldraftscoutIf the #Browns can get Jared Cook and Paul Kruger? Open the doors for Dee Milliner if there at No. 6 overall. This is a talented roster.

COA will love that Milliner comment.
