McCarron looks good, but you have to find a way to de-aggregate him from his offensive weapons (mostly offensive line). A lot of quarterbacks can look good in college when given all the time in the world to throw, or using a playbook that doesn't expose them to much pressure (cough cough Weeden).Dr. KnOiTaLL;1546932 wrote:You know, with all of the potential QB's in this draft, I think I want McCarron. I don't know why, and I know there are more talented guys in the draft, but I feel like he is the safest pick, and I think we could get it with our second first rounder. Am I crazy for feeling this way instead of Teddy B, Johnny Football, Hundley, and Carr?
Doesn't mean he can't be awesome, NFL teams will just have to accurately evaluate him at Senior Bowl (if he goes), combine, pro days, workouts etc.
I personally like Johnny Football.

I think right now Manzell is about 33/33/33. 33% chance he will be serviceable. 33% change he does what Russell and Kap have done, and 33% absolute fucking bust.lhslep134;1546951 wrote:McCarron looks good, but you have to find a way to de-aggregate him from his offensive weapons (mostly offensive line). Give me a guy who plays at a terrible school with no oline or WRs. Guys with pros around them always look good, and rarely pan out.
With that said, Bridgewater and Bortles are the 2 guys I would target.

My NFL comparison is Romo. The way he keeps plays alive, the sneaky good accuracy.thavoice;1546970 wrote:I think right now Manzell is about 33/33/33. 33% chance he will be serviceable. 33% change he does what Russell and Kap have done, and 33% absolute fucking bust.
Yeah he's a freaking douche, but he's also an extremely hard worker and wants to win. Since I would love Romo on the Browns, I'd love someone with an even higher ceiling IMO.

I like the fact that McCarron has spent 4 years in a pro-style offense as well. Wouldn't spend a 1st rounder on him, but would a 2nd or 3rd.

Id pick McCarron with one of our 4ths after we spend a 1st round pick on a QB.

Ala like the Redskins did with RG3 and Cousins. I'd agree with this I might even say spend a 3rd on McCarron. Definitely would not spend a 2nd rounder on him.like_that;1547013 wrote:Id pick McCarron with one of our 4ths after we spend a 1st round pick on a QB.

I don't want to draft 2 quarterbacks in this draft. I'm content with Hoyer, draft pick, then bring some veterans and undrafted QBs into camp. I'd like to avoid what the Redskins did.

The Clevetroit brain trust will grab Manzier over McCarron and hopefully Mac goes to another team in the division and tortures you all for years to come.
