They could easily be 3-5 at the midway point.

But i think they'll probably get 9 wins.

I'm expecting this game to bring back visions of "Ken Dorsey as our starter" days. Offensive(r) offense.

Anyone hear Banner's interview on browns daily on 850? Thought it was pretty good.

Just a quick update: Source says Willis McGahee is still taking his physical with the Browns. He's in final test...running drills outside.

Chris Trapasso ‏@ChrisTrapasso 22m Some perspective: Trent Richardson's 298 NFL carries have gone for 1,055 yards. Willis McGahee's last 298 carries have gone for 1,359 yards.

Can't be much worse than weedens.

Honestly I'd rather suffer through someone who we know is shit then suffer through our first round picks QB play that we all know is horrible except for a few people.

Basically conceded the team isn't close, obviously without actual using those words. Said that he expects Trent to do well in Indy, but based on where the browns are in the building process the 1st round pick has more value to our particular situation.

Understands fans anger about this season, but goal has always been to build a sustained winner and moves like this need to be made to avoid to continuous cycle the franchise has been in. Doesn't expect fans to trust them yet, but hopes some of the acquisitions this past offseason have increased confidence level some. Realizes how important this draft will be and that they need to get it right.

There was some typical FO speak, but he didn't deflect or dodge as many questions as most coaches and execs would.

NFL: AroundTheLeague @NFL_ATL Pagano got texts from Ravens players thanking him for getting Richardson out of the division.

Why is one of the league's twitter accounts making it a point to shit on the Browns.

I expect that from the fans, but why is the league trying to rub our faces in it.

From an article at CBS Sports:
With some deft moves in next April's draft, the organization has a chance to break out of this perpetual rebuilding mode they've been stuck in since returning to Cleveland in 1999.
Even Richardson, the third-overall pick in 2012, believes this.
"Their group there [in Cleveland], they know what they're doing," Richardson told WOIO-TV (via the Cleveland Plain Dealer). "Browns fans, please get behind them 100 percent, don't lose no fan base over this, still root for them. Keep hope. Because it's going to happen. The Browns are going to be good for a while when it does happen.”
Of course, Richardson was almost certainly in shock when he uttered those words.

"I can't believe it," he said of the trade that no one could believe at first. "I didn't see it coming from anywhere … I appreciate the Browns fans, some of the best fans I've ever been around."

They almost have to lose every game at this point.

Even lucking our way into a few wins would be an unmitigated disaster.

If we ended up with say the 3rd or 4th pick, and Bridgewater is the clear franchise guy, if the team drafting #1 was willing to trade it we would owe them probably 3 #1's to get there.

That was the argument we were just having 2 years ago about how we needed so much we couldn't afford to give away so many #1's for an RGIII.

It is not inconceivable the defense might win them a game or 2, yet Banner's entire strategy is predicated on drafting 1st so that we don't have to trade all of our number 1's which cripples the rebuild in the immediate future.

I think Bridgewater, Hundley, and Boyd can all succeed in the NFL. We don't necessarily have to pick first.

Probably because he is one of the top QBs and the Browns are probably now scouting him.

I think I like Hundley and Bridgewater more than Tahj though.

DB still jumped the route. Boyd has missed bad on some deep throws as well. Overthrowing Sammy Watkins even.

And Laley pointed out why I posted it here, seeing as the current topic of conversation is QB prospects.

Chris Fedor ‏@ChrisFedor 2m Justin Houston - used with the pick the Browns gave KC so CLE could move up for Phil Taylor. Julio Jones trade fallout. Yikes again

4.5 sacks and two fumble recoveries tonight.

No, it's just assumed that because they made the playoffs LAST year and that they have the "great Andrew Luck" that they'll be in the mix this year. They weren't all that good last year. They did what they were supposed to (beat a lot of bad teams) against a cake walk schedule.
