Color me shocked by how many people here are listing The Wire. It's one of the few(maybe only) shows where if I hear someone list it as a favorite, I know they're probably pretty intelligent. Just can't picture a stupid person even comprehending much less enjoying it.

You haven't seen a single episode of Seinfeld? How is it possible to go through life and not even watch one episode of Seinfeld? It was on syndication on TBS continuously as long as its run on NBC. And on a near-daily basis chances are someone will say something that references it.
